Meow!
I had this game for my Nintendo Switch, never bothered to get everything on that version, but I liked it so much of course I grab the steam version and actually 100% it.
What I like from Magicat is how simple it is yet it offers a significant challenge the more you progress, early levels looks simple and feels simple but you can feel the struggle the more you progress, the devs put a lot of effort on building the levels. In additition to that I really like that almost every level have an unique mechanic to deal with so it doesn't feel like you're going through the same over and over, sure some of those mechanics may be too similar between eachother but at least it adds some level of freshness.
I still have some complains, the time rush mode had potential to be great, but as how they implemented is merely a rerun of the same levels again, if they would have added changes to the dashes, enemies and maybe a little bit in the layout it could have been soooo good, but sadly it just an extra mode of the same stuff that took me 1 extra hour to unlock all the achievements. Another issue are the bosses, a big portion of them feel more like a nuissance rather than actual good battles.
This game from what I know uses either public or pay to use assets, it does feel like at some point like experimental, therefore you will see a lot of reused layouts and sprites, but that doesn't take out that you can feel they put a lot of love and effort on making this game.
Recommended for those that like platformers and decent challenges.
