The good 👍
- It is interesting to see Clementine as NPC, who do things entirely independently
- There is more impact on who survives/dies based on our actions than in previous game
- Brandon Keener voice is so good playing Garrus... Oh, I mean Jesus
The bad 👎
- Unskippable dialogues
- Dated graphics and wonky animations
- There is very little of puzzles or exploration in here
- Not possible to run
- Characters were not fleshed out much. I did not connect with anyone really
Conclusion:
I don't think having Clementine in this season does the game any good. From the statistics it is clear players "do good by Clementine", not have the usual 50/50 split between made decisions. I can see why. I also chose to side with Clementine, instead of my whiny family :hehe:. But still, it removes the aspect of caring for your own group, in favour of supporting Clementine.

We play as Javier, a Latino ex-basketball player who takes care of his nephew, nice and their mum during zombie apocalypse. His brother was an aggressive ex-military guy that was mentally lost outside the army, and is missing since the start of the zombie appearance. The game focuses on showing the power struggles between different settlements that emerged after the apocalypse, trying to keep the family alive, and working with Clementine. I believe the story in this one is the weakest of all the seasons (except for Michonne, which is even more meh). Javier family is very forgettable, and I did not grow to care much about them. His brother is very stereotypical agressive dude. His nice and nephew are also shallow filler. |

The good 👍
- Storytelling is top-notch
- It is possible to run!
- Graphic is slightly better in comparison to previous games
- Collectibles to decorate room are a nice touch
- Fact that whole game focuses on one location helps with pacing and "emotional grounding"
The bad 👎
- Unskippable dialogues
- Game still suffers from wonky animations
Conclusion:
This game is so much better than The New Frontier. And a great ending to the whole series. Clementine went from being a scared kid, to growing up kid, to badass teenager, who manages to raise a kid herself. Characters are flesh-out and interesting. The relationship with AJ is deep. Actions have consequences, sometimes in a way we don't expect it, as AJ constantly adjusts to what Clementine says and how she behaves.

Ending is soooo good bitter-sweet mix. Because althought the ending was sad, made me weep a bit, and concluded well the whole series; it also made me glad they did not turn it into an invincible Clementine hero-story. In the final season Clementine finds a boarding school, with kids that survive on their own without adults. Clementine can go into her first relationship, save kids from danger and learns more information about Walkers. I will obviously not spoiler the plot, but during the very end I was thinking "you did not friggin do this to me, how could you devs 🥺". Spoiler behind the details:
After the last scene between AJ and Clementine in the barn, I really thought that Clementine died. When I heard her voice later in the school yard, I thought it's recollection between AJ and Clementine, just like Clementine was talking to Lee on the train earlier. But no, she was ALIVE. I was so happy, and also annoyed, that devs made me cry for nothing 🤣
