October 2026

This month has been extremely busy with PhD work and content creation, but I’m making a lot of progress in those areas! I’ve also completed a few games I’d had unfinished for years, so that’s nice too! However… being busy with content creation also made me get a ton of keys, so… the backlog will never be finished….

Games I Have Fully Completed

Half-Life 2

Slime Rancher

3.8/5
25.0 hours
57 of 57 achievements

Slime Rancher is a cute, charming, and very addictive farming sim that wraps a simple loop in a colorful world full of adorable blobs. The first several hours are slow and a bit of a slog, and the constant back and forth for resources can wear on you, but once automation kicks in and the largo combinations start piling up, it really hooks you in. Rush mode is also a great change of pace for when the ranch grind starts to feel one note. If you can get through the slow start, this one is easy to recommend.

Half-Life 2

Eldest Souls

2/5
30.0 hours
50 of 50 achievements

Eldest Souls has gorgeous boss designs, a great soundtrack, and some of the most impressive fight visuals I’ve seen in a 2D indie soulslike. Unfortunately, the actual gameplay of fighting those bosses feels unfair, with attacks that connect when they shouldn’t, poor telegraphing, and bosses that overstay their welcome. Add in a miserable achievement list and a platforming zone that exists purely to ruin your day, and I can’t recommend this one. It’s a classic case of wasted potential, because the artistic side of this game deserved a much better foundation underneath it.

Half-Life 2

pureya

2/5
22.7 hours
9 of 9 achievements

pureya is a pleasant-looking minigame collection with a lot of variety, some enjoyable cutscenes, and nice character skins. Unfortunately, the minigames are mostly variations on the same marble-collecting idea; they get boring and frustrating fast, and the pachinko board you have to use to unlock everything gets old way too quickly. Add in a hellish "100 score on every minigame" achievement and visuals that gave me eye strain, and I can’t recommend this one. If you want a solo WarioWare-style experience, it might scratch an itch, but it lacks the charm and personality that makes that kind of game work. Not recommended
