Path of Exile ! I removed this one from my steam account but in fact i had finished the campaign too… but was so ashamed of the nb of hours sunk into lol.
Did you play other hack’n’slash ? You enjoyed it ? Including the monstruous skills tree ? :p
I played the first one a while ago, but didn’t finish the campaign.
This time, I played the 2nd one with a PoE-veteran friend. And that was good extra motivation to keep at it. And, funny enough, he also helped me by forcing me to get past my habitual compulsion to EXPLORE EVERY SINGLE PIXEL OF THE MAP, and go straight for the objectives and move on.
Another thing that helped: following a build guide (again, advice from my friend). Felt like cheating at first, but was positive overall, because it gave me a taste of what the ideal progression goal can feel like, and was a softer introduction to the ridiculous skill tree :).
I really liked the campaign, the story (even though it’s unfinished), and the design and art of the game. And frankly, I’m quite hooked now with the progression, crafting and build system. I’ve barely started the end-game part, but I keep wanting to go back to it. My friend, I’m afraid… I could become addicted to this dreadful thing. :p It’s the problem with these endless games that I end up enjoying… they must have been made and sent by my evil backlog to sabotage me from ever clearing it out.
There are other games like this that I’ve played before, but not many. The first 2 Diablos, Titan Quest and Torchlight. I also played a bit of Grim Dawn at some point, but didn’t finish it. I’d like to get back to it some day.

Yeah, that’s right it’s a Backlog monster… Damn friend ! :p
Thanks for the extensive answer anyway, i see that it has all needed for an addictive Diablo-like !
“Damn friend” LOL! Very “damn” indeed. One week later, I can confirm: I just can’t stop playing it… but at least, it’s a good one to play in short bursts at a time (30-45m sessions usually work well).
