December Update

After a month hiatus without much progress I return to this site.

December Monthly Theme: Best of

I only started playing games for this theme one week ago. That’s why I didn’t play any long games. I did, however, like what I played
We Were Here is a great co-op f2p game. I played it with a friend in one sitting and it’s amazing. We loved completing it and we plan to play the sequel soon.
Bastion is a game most of you probably already know. It’s supergiants first game and it’s very sweet. I love the narration and the music and the atmosphere they create is amazing.
The Sexy Brutale is an odd one. It’s a timetravel murder story adventure thingy. I adore this game… Trying to save everyone in a groundhogs day style scenario is amazing.

Long-term Projects

These are the games I’ll finish in the (very) distant future.
I played The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth for a long time this month. I’m getting further and further, but the end is not near yet.
Stardew Valley is my favourite game at the moment. I absolutely love playing it and my farm is growing nicely. I will soon finish the bundles (which I consider beating this game), but finishing it will take a while.
Hitman 2 and Euro Truck Simulator 2 are games that I play from time to time and make some progress while I play them. I made some progress in Hitman, but not much in ETS2.

Other

These are the other games I played this month. There is not much to say about them… I gained some achievements, but I didn’t hunt for them.

Pile of Shame aka. New Games

We Were Here is f2p, so I just added it to my account. After playing it I bought We Were Here Too, to play it soon.
Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition was a must buy for me. I played the HD version for a very long time. I look forward to playing it with my friends in multiplayer.
Zombie Driver HD was free on steam and it looked nice, so I added it to my account.

2019 reflection

I completed 13 games this year, which is one more than last year. I also finished two long term projects (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Metal Gear Solid V: the Phantom Pain) and I’m very happy with that. I look forward to 2020.

I just played Bastion for the December theme myself. I really liked it. I played through New Game Plus and got more of the achievements that I thought were possible when I first started the game. There’s one more I could get if I grinded it out (the Score Attack achievement) but that basically means playing the game yet a third time. Not for me.

Would you recommend playing new games plus? I’m not sure if I should play it again.

Trent

It doesn’t appear that you’re a completionist, so probably not. You can get a number of the achievements pretty easily in NG+ since you start with all of your weapons/upgrades/etc. at your disposal, plus your level (e.g., more active spirits than you used to have in early game). But the game itself is pretty much the same.

Okay, thanks

How do you like Witch It?

weissnichts vom Leben

I quite like it. It’s not a game I play often, but I like to play a few rounds every now and than. For that it’s great, because the rounds are pretty quick and the game is cheap. The gameplay itself is fairly good, but it could use a few more maps (although they keep adding more)

Oh that’s good to hear! I’ll add it back to my wishlist then :)
