Nekopara

meh. Don’t really see the appeal here. Took around 20-25 minutes so an easy completion.

SOMA

I actually found the game kinda boring at the beginning, but once I stopped focusing on trying to finish the game and more on actually playing the game and immersing myself in the story, I really really enjoyed it. The big thing about this game is of course its story. Not much to say about gameplay other than that it involves mostly walking/running, some stealth (I wouldn’t really call it stealth as your just hiding from the monsters and waiting for them to go away) and a few simple puzzles. Decent graphics. And of course there’s the horror which is done pretty nicely. Great game overall that focuses on its story and horror elements.

SOMA is on my itching to play list. Is the 18 hours playtime from a lot of idling, or is it a longer game than I realized?

Narayan

It’s roughly 10 hours (1 hour per segment, 10 segments). At least that’s how much it took me and I’m usually pretty thorough. :)

Trent

Hmm, then it will probably take me 18+ hours. ;)
Thanks for the reply.

i felt it actually went by pretty quickly to the point where i considered doing a quick second playthrough to fully understand the smaller detail of the plot.
And my 18 hours is a lie, I usually go afk for extended periods of time and just don’t want to have to close the game and then have to turn it back on when i get back.

Imo that’s the best way to approach games in general - just trying to enjoy what one plays :)

I really got into SOMA basically from the get-go (right after the present day intro ended). That kind of horror is very appealing to me, something thought provoking and evoking sense of dread (instead of cheap jump scares). I could use less chase sequences, and less waiting for the monsters to go away, but I still think fondly about it regardless :)

Completely true, but when you have a backlog full of games you really wanna play and so little time you tend to lose sight of the objective.

Noticed you've just finished Sleeping Dogs. I'm playing it rn myself and it's been pretty fun. Almost nearing the end of the main story (at least I think I am, you can never be too sure) and I really enjoyed it. Looks like you've yet to play Mafia 2 which you might wanna take a look into if you like Sleeping Dogs.
