Aquilla

Finished in August(1-3)

I finished the biggest game in my backlog. And I’m tired, I need some small indie games right now.

Witcher 3: Wild Hunt GOTY

Yes, i finished the Witcher. With all expansions. Boy, that was a ride. I don’t really have much to say - it’s awesome game with awesome writing. There are whole assays about it, so I don’t feel I need to write a big review. I’m not giving it 10/10, because of some minor problem with interface, and mostly, because it was randomly crashing 2-3 times a day. Looks like it don’t like something in my computer.

Interesting little puzzle game, in some cases similar to clasic board games. You have a little garden, and a few turns to spare. Each turn you can plant flowers, or fuze two flowers to make one with bigger level. You are getting points for those flowers and the goal is to get as big score as possible. You can also create special patterns of flower to help yourself. And that’s mostly all. There is a progress in story, but basically you need to have X amount of maximum level flowers to unlock next part of story, and you picking those from every game, so after a while it is getting a bit grindy. But all in all it was good fun.

I feel bad for this game. In any other month it would be my game of the month, but you know…. Witcher. It’s kind of adventure game, but very, very meta. It reminded me about Stanley Parable and Pony Island. It’s also really funny, mocking particular genres of games, and the riddles are not hard, but quite clever, and required you to think outside a box. All in all great little hidden gem.
