That makes it 3 out of 3, and wraps up the franchise for me. COD MW 3 is kind of more of the same that we're used to, with a few kinks that baffled me.

First of all, the game graphically looks worse than the previous iteration. That might have been my graphical settings, but I never had to mess with it to get great graphics in the prequel, and here even after messing with it I couldn't get the game to look as sharp as the previous game in the franchise. Worse of all, the FOV in my game was super narrow, fixed at 65. I tried upping it to 90 but the game kept resetting it every time it loaded a level.

Other than that, gameplay is remarkably similar to what we know, as are the missions and scenarios you go through. I felt this game has the fastest pace of the trio so far, with very few missions being quiet and most throwing you in the eye of the storm. Which is fine, but made me take breaks from it more frequently than from other games in the series. It's really, really overwhelming. I enjoyed the variety in cities you visit, and how they all mostly get the vibes right. Having lived in New York and visited Berlin and Paris multiple times, it was pretty cool to see them rendered on the screen.

One thing that truly baffled me was how much the game relied on QTEs towards the end. Like, I know it's from that time when QTE's were fun, but to make you drop your guns and rely on quick button presses in the last five minutes is just pissing in your face as a gamer. I don't know, that didn't sit well with me.

All in all, I'm glad I finally found the time to play through the franchise. Seriously considering jumping straight into the fourth game now. Will let you all know how that goes if it happens
