I gotta ask - is Nier Automata as GREAT as I’ve heard everyone praise it?

MikrosPL

Sorry for late answer (I didn’t use my PC lately). I think… no… I also heard it’s awesome game but for me it wasn’t.

Anything in particular that annoyed you?

Very boring, stupid side missions, which makes you running from location to location all the time, generally BACKTRACKING is in this game all the time. To fully beat the game you need to play it 3 times. 1st character - ending A, 2nd character - ending B, 3rd character - ending C. And A and B are the same! You need to play whole main story 2 times and do the same things as before!!! Only from other perspective (guy who was all the time next to you before). Locations are poor of details and boring. They are empty as hell. The worst enemies of this game are repeatability, schematicity, backtracking, boredom, monotony. All the time you are running between 4 the same locations, killing the same enemies, doing boring side missions etc. I don’t criticize the story because my English isn’t top notch - it’s wiered and complicated and I got lost in it.

Oddly enough that entire “replay multiple times to get new story bits and different endings” is something this director always does with his games. I guess it’s REALLY apparent now with limited content that had to be recycled.

This game have a lot of endings (from A to Z) but those endings are bullshit… for example when you must go left in the story and you will go right then you will see a cutscene and they will tell that 9S deserted and runaway and the game will ends. You will get a ending T or X. For example if you lose the boss fight you will get ending K or R or whatever. You have 3 main endings A, B, C and in last one you have a choice to make (something or something ealse) when you do chapter select and do them both you will get ending D or E… the rest are bullshit.
