Kentucky Route Zero*: the story is weird and interesting but the game mostly consist of reading, there is not much of actual gameplay. I liked it a lot though, music is great and graphic style is very nice. I hope that last episode won’t take years to finish…
GRID: a lot of cars from different classes, a lot of tracks, damage model, simply everything that should make this game the best racing game ever. But somehow I played it more to mark it completed than because I was actually enjoying it. Something just did not click for me, I don’t know, maybe it’s because progression was not that rewarding.
The Turing Test: decent sci-fi story with (mostly) easy puzzles and good music.
DiRT Showdown: you can clearly see that a lot of content was just copied from Dirt 3, but this game is more arcade’y and revolves around crashing into other cars. It is quite fun though.
Lifeless Planet*: Walking simulator with an alright story and a few easy puzzles. Some sections feel a bit empty and platforming can be annoying but the graphics are very nice and music is awesome (though it only plays in a few sections).
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen*: spent most of my gaming time on this title. A bit of mixed feelings here. The combat is great, and I really liked the fact that you can climb monsters to get to the weak spots. And the fact you can change your class during playthrough is awesome. The story is ok, but dialogs are not that great and the music playing during the “romantic” scenes seems like taken from a soap opera. But the fact that there is only one save slot is pure bullshit. Overall I liked it but I know there are people here who regret buying or wining this game so YMMV ;-)

I need guidance to 100% Dragon’s Dogma. I’m really struggling with that game. Bitterblack Isle is really hard and I am not getting any loot from it. I defeated the giant eye boss after a 50 minute battle and when I ran into Death I couldn’t even do a single damage despite throwing everything I could at him. Urdragon farming is also horrible for me. It takes me ages to kill him and he always leaves so I have to sleep to bring him back. I’m like level 60 or so I think. It’s moving at turtle speed. I wanna 100% this game because I’m a completionist and it’s a SG win but damn it’s hard. Do you have any suggestions? I’m dead set on Magick Archer by the way so I won’t be changing classes.

BBI is ridiculously hard. I went there around level 60 and I used tons of throwblasts as it was the only way to kill anything in reasonable time. I used this guide for help: http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Bitterblack_Isle_Beginner_Strategies
Note that second playthrough through BBI (required for True Conqueror achievement) is even worse as there is more enemies, and they are even more powerful (there is even an arena with two dragons :-/ ). Running past some enemies might be required to beat BBI on early levels.

Death is a bit tricky, I have beaten him as an assassin and as a strider using conquerors periapt and blast arrows with Fivefold Flurry. Killing him with Magic Archer can be harder, as you cannot use blast arrows, but there is a strategy for your class here: http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Death. Take note that Death will disappear after taking some damage so you have to fight him several times. On the wiki page there is description how to farm him.

For fast leveling it is best to be under effect of weal when you fight groups of enemies or big enemies that give a lot of XP. Best for that is Blessed Flower, if you missed it I can re-download the game and give you one through your pawn. Then you can make copies in Black Cat or sleep to restore it. And also play on hard mode if it is possible (it doubles XP). Oh, and the pawns also have impact on amount XP you gain, if you hire pawns that are 25 levels below you you will get more XP. When I was done with my hard mode playthrough (i.e. before fighting Seneschal again) I was around level 140. To get to 200 I played BBI with Blessed flower, without my main pawn and with 2 pawns that were 25 levels below.

When I was at level 170 BBI was pretty ok but on level 60 it is a nightmare.

As for the Ur-Dragon - on low levels it takes a lot of time to kill him, with magic archer at least it is easier to find all his hearts ;-) After you finish a playthrough, in the east part of beach in Cassradis there will be a stone that can teleport you to Ur-dragon. You do not have to sleep, just leave his chamber and you can get back through the stone.

I hope this helps, good luck! :-)

I already had the links. My bookmarks are full of DD guides. I asked only if there was a trick to it. Thanks for the explanations.

Congratulations on progress.

andrzej

Unfortunately there is no trick, just a lot of patience required :-/

Truly thank you for the detailed explanation either way. I’m also using high level pawns because I can’t do anything by myself. I can’t kill anyone. I know that really hinders my experience gain. I tried soloing Urdragon. There is just absolutely no way. I need my pawns. I am not doing hard right now because I set my course upon BBI but that isn’t working very well. I’m just lost. I will either try again if I feel ready for it or accept a non completion which I admit that both are very hard to do.

andrzej

I understand that feeling, it is hard to give up, especially with such amazing number of completed games like yours! Offline Ur-Dragon, Everfall (if you’re on this stage) or throwblasting through BBI are the most efficient way to level up. If you want to use high level pawns you may add me as a friend on Steam, then you will be able to hire my pawn for free. He is ~170 lvl Strider, maybe he will be of some help.

Thank you so much for the offer. I already have a very high level pawn I think she is level 200. She has infinity symbol next to her level. What would you say to campaign farming on hard? Maybe if I ditch the high level pawn and do the campaign like 2 times or so only the main quests. Would that be an okay way to level up until I can kill Urdragon quicker? My usual Urdragon fights take an hour and I get like no levels….

Throwblast is for ranger and strider only right? I think I need the periapt that gives me magic damage I forgot the name. I need to stock up on them but I need to do Percival quest to get a discount and that quest is looooong and annoying. Damn anyway I will try to make it work. Thanks for all the help :)

andrzej

Yup, infinity means level 200. Hmm, it’s weird, I think that my fights with Ur in the beginning were long but not that long (more like 20 minutes), and I got enough XP for at least one level (I was using items granting weal though). BBI is faster to farm XP, but if it is too difficult/annoying then doing campaign on hard should help you gain some levels. Just use items giving weal each time when you are about to kill a big (= a lot of XP) enemy.

No, throwblast is an item (a bomb), and each class can use it. You can buy them in Cassardis, but you would need a lot of them for each enemy in BBI so it’s kind of annoying.

Nice job, Dragon’s Dogma is particularly impressive O_O

andrzej

Many thanks! Yeah, it took me a while. Bitterblack Isle is a nightmare, Dark Souls was much easier :-/

DakotaThrice

The only regret anyone should have about Dragon’s Dogma is that the original opening theme got replaced with the release of Dark Arisen

andrzej

Haha, yeah, I noticed that a lot of people on Steam complain about it, I think there is even a guide on how to restore it ;-)
