Aquilla

Finished in June (2,3,4,5)

I had a week of free time, so I actually finished a couple of games. I deleted most of the playtimes, because thanks to cards mining they were totally wrong anyway.

It’s not a game, it’s a very short story with a few pictures and a few dialogue choices. The plot was quite simple, but the writing was good and I have a soft spot for noir stories, so I liked that. Besides it’s free, what do you want more?

This game is awesome. Solid gameplay, nice art, good characters and story. The two main heroes were really likeable, the battles were a bit easy, but satysfying, and I played on the “normal” mode, so hard propably would be more challenging. And beside all of this - this game was done by one guy. I mean - WOW. That was a great job. In the end I was starting to be a bit tired, but the game ended in perfect moment, exacly when I had enough. I highly recommend, if you are in the mood for platformer - brawler

If you remember American McGee Alice - Fran Bow is something like that but twice as messed up. It’s a bizarre and scary adventure game, with many “Alice in Wonderland” references (I even found a photo of Fran and her friend from school - Alice), and a bit of “Wizard of Oz” wibe. Very violent (cartoony, but not silly, if you now what I mean), and very opened for interpretation. I’m still not sure, what to think about its plot.
From a strict gameplay point of view - a solid adventure game - not to easy, not to hard, with some creative mechanics which lead to interesting riddles.

Every gamer should play something like this from time to time, just to have a good perspective for games quality. This game is just bad. It looks acceptable, although the blurry effect is too strong, but that’s where the goods things ended.
The plot is confusing, thanks to bad translation, the movement is very clunky, you don’t really know what to do, every time you die you need to hear the same dialogue over and over again. There are hundreds of small problems, like lamps looking exacly like collectables (so you try to pick them up), Or the beginning of the game, when you need to go to the enter of the cave, and then backtrack to the start point to get a weapon (of course you don’t know, where the weapon is, so I spend 10 minutes searching for it in every logical place, before going back, and no, the weapon isn’t there until you enter the cave). I gave up when game asked me to find 10 pieces of paper in the forest, which meaned looking at every tree from every angle… no, thank you, I have better things to do.

I just played Dust last month (for the Japanese theme). How did you not Meet Haley (The Blacksmith of Archers’ Pass achievement)?

Aquilla

Achievement somehow broke. Notice, that I DID anger Matti (Bad Therapist).

Trent

LOL good point!
