Eleonora Falcon

Hello!

New year, new me!
Well I'm still the same me, but I do hope this year will be a better one for everyone.

There were several games that triggered my simulator sickness. For those who don't know what it is, it's like motion sickness but it gets caused by certain games.
I try to avoid FPS games because of it. But 'Brütal Legend', 'Dear Esther' & 'Last Day Of June' also triggered it.
It's really not fun because it makes me feel like I need to vomit 😥

I decided to remove some games from my steam account. It were mostly free to play games that I added in the past but now wasn't really interested in.
I still have a lot of unplayed and unfinished games. But I am planning to try and finish games that I have put a lot of time in.
While looking at my games I realised I have a few games that are almost finished but I stopped playing them right before the end.
Maybe I have difficulty with saying goodbye to games that I like? I'm not completely sure what the reason is.

I hope you are well!

Thank you for reading!
Nora💜

I did plan to play several fun games that I had been playing the previous month. But for some reason I just wasn't feeling it.

Oh Tukoni looks adorable, I’m downloading it right now and will play it tomorrow. Thanks a lot for the find. I have platformers filtered out and since it was tagged as a platformer for some reason, I would never be able to discover it on my own.

I suffer from motion sickness a lot and the most recent game I had to quit playing because of it was Layers of Fear 2 I got for free from Epic. This is quite upsetting to me cause I actually enjoyed the first game a lot and was genuinely interested in the 2nd. I didn’t suffer any sickness in the 1st game either but the 2nd one made me feel terrible. It’s such an annoying affliction, I wish there was a permanent solution to eliminate it.

Edit: Completed Tukoni. What a cute little game <3

Glad you liked Tukoni!
I often check the activity feed on steam and find some gems from time to time.

People have tried giving me tips about the simulator sickness like trying to play a bit longer every time I play and stop before feeling sick.
But it difference how fast I feel sick and once I feel sick it’s difficult to start the game again.
I do look up info from time to time in the hope there will some day be a solution :-)

💜

Edit: I love your profile!

like trying to play a bit longer every time I play

Doing this literally made me vomit because I refused to quit the game even though my body was screaming at me to. That really is not a good advice at all :S I wonder if those people actually experience it themselves or conjure up tips out of thin air.

My activity feed on Steam is quite calm due to a very small friends list. It’s somewhat rare for me to discover games there. Since people keep adding irrelevant or outright false tags, using Steam discover to find relevant games can also be a chore. I wish they let developers tag their own games rather than users.

Thank you :) I love your posts too especially the 3 pie charts, they are very tidy and neat.

They probably don’t have it themselves. I also get it from movies with a “found footage” kind of filming… Vomited in the cinema 😓 And in the fitness I can’t use the elliptical because it gives me the same symptoms. It’s really weird and sucks if people just laugh at you because they don’t understand.

My activity feed always has new activity haha. I kinda accept friend requests from everyone.
But it’s not like I chat with everyone.

And thank you! I look at other posts and take things I like from them. I google some things because I don’t know any code. But it’s fun! It’s like trying to make a puzzle, so I really like finding the right things to edit and make it look how I want it to.

I literally vomited in the air while paragliding. I take stomach protection pills now before I fly out but I still get affected. I have to let the pilot know that we can’t do acrobatics even though they are really fun cause I’d definitely not be able to hold it until landing. I always take a bag with me now just in case. This sickness thing can be very weird too, for example found footage films don’t affect me that much but commuting is pure torture. I can never read while on a bus or subway. I can’t even look at my phone while I’m in any vehicle. Just 3-4 seconds of looking down, I start feeling absolutely horrible. I simply “exist” in a vehicle and I get sick. I’ve never been laughed at because of it but people aren’t very sympathetic to it either, they usually see it as an excuse.

One of the reasons I stopped posting on BLAEO was because of the hassle with codes. Unfortunately I don’t find it as fun as you do and it is a huge waste of my time. Each post would take me like 2-3 hours despite having an html template. This duration doesn’t even include writing the reviews, it’s purely for post formatting. I’d rather do anything else with that time now so I stopped completely.

Interesting! I think you might be a Dragon Slayer!

I used to get problems in the car, I vomited a few times in my dads car or had to stop at the side of the highway. But it got better with getting older.
Playing pokémon for example wasn’t a problem as long as I didn’t turn the music on (noticing the pokéflute channel that way took forever!).
I don’t remember having trouble on a boat, but I was mostly the one sailing, so that could also be the reason for it. And I have only flown a few times in a big plain and didn’t have problems.

But it’s interesting to learn how it effects people differently!

About the posts, there is a great site for templates that someone from here made. I have linked to it in the links section on my profile. I don’t use it except for my stats page. But it is a good site and makes it easier to make nice looking posts.

My sickness in vehicles did get better after getting older, it was much worse as a kid. But it’s still very very bad. Gaming wise it became much worse as I got older. I would never get sick while playing a game as a kid.

Since we are giving game examples, I vomited a few times while playing Portal. I couldn’t even 100% the 1st game because my stomach can’t handle it. Especially the achievement for taking as few steps as possible, meaning you need to keep spinning in portals every 2 seconds which is just pure torture for my body. I really want to 100% it but as long as there is no cure or treatment for this, I am never touching Portal games ever again, even if they make a 3rd one. Just no way!

I only have trouble on a boat if the sea is very wavy making the boat rock constantly. Not that I am ever on a boat often.

I know the website that gives the templates. It’s a brilliant website but I still don’t want to spend lots of hours preparing BLAEO posts, writing reviews, picking screenshots, formatting those screenshots into a gallery etc etc. I rarely get the urge to write about certain games but then I force that urge away.
