Aquilla

I cannot decide if I prefer to write a post for every game I finished or write a big post at the end of the month. I think I will write a post for every game + a post in the end of the month, where I will list finished games and write about games I dropped (and I’m dropping A LOT of games).

Finished in June (1)

  • Battle Chef Brigade

    14 hours playtime

    15 of 25 achievements

7/10

I am suprised that the absolutely crazy idea for a story is taken quite suriously. You are a warrior… and a chef. You are making dishes out of everything you hunted, and you are rated base on how good your dishes are. The pack of best chefs will join elite squad of soldiers/researches/diplomates, who are protecting the country. It’s a nice game with enjoyable characters, very nice style of graphic, and quite unique gameplay. Basically it’s a match 3 game, but your need to earn you colorful ingredients by fighting monsters on 2D platform arenas.

During th play I had two issues. It’s VERY linnear. I expected at least a few major quests you can executed in a order you choose, but no - you are doing what story is telling you to do and you have only minor choices (remainding me of Pyre in this way) . You can go practice battles, but there is no point in that, besides training your real life skills in this game. My second problem is a bit bigger - Even at the end of this game I had problem with controls. I played on keyboard, and the space was used as an exit button on one interface, and as a confirm on other. During a fierce battle I messed this dosens of times.

I will recommend this game. Is unique enough to be interesting and anjoyable. Just maybe try to play it on gamepad.
