Trying out new style of posts, titles are nav-tabs and pictures are steam store links in case you’re confused.

Shadowrun Returns is a turn-based tactics with a HEAVY emphasis on the story. In fact the gameplay is as basic as you can possibly make it: 2 actions per turn (3+ later), all attacks are simple hit/miss RNG in line of sight, barely any additional mechanics and even then most likely that only your main character can use them, dialogue options barely have any impact and 99% of the time all of them lead to the same result. On the bright side the story is interesting and locations are well designed, even though they are very small. I'm kind of disappointed that all those kickstarter millions resulted in a such basic game but i would still recommend it to play.
If you are looking for a WAY WAY WAY better gameplay in a cyberpunk turn-based environment - i STRONGLY recommend Paradise Cracked and it's pre-sequel, sadly it probably won't run on newer systems and the remastered version is in russian only.
Shadowgate is a p'n'c adventure and i have a kind of mixed opinion about it... Story is pretty weak, puzzles are fine but sometimes are not obvious at all and can require A LOT of trial and error and backtracking, having A LOT of useless items is not helping as well. I'd recommend it to a hardcore p'n'c fan and for a casual player with a walkthrough open by his side.
Castle Crashers is a kind of fun beat 'em up... with friends. Solo it wasn't too fun and i can't see any reasons to replay it ever though it has an option to unlock new characters and play through again. Other game modes weren't appealing as well. Overall i think it is a decent co-op game. Solo it's not too fun unless you like beat 'em ups.

I am currently playing Shadowrun and have the same feeling as you. But It is fun and I am enjoying it.

Will have to check Paradise Cracked out… thanks for the recommendation :)

I tried to find partner for co-op Castle Crashers quite some time but nobody wants.

Evolve

I played with a friend for about a third of the game and then he just quit so i finished it alone :\
Some sort of co-op finder on BLAEO would be great i guess, the are probably some specialized sites/groups for that out there.

More than anything else Shadowrun Returns was held back by Unity Engine, as were plenty of other Kickstarted games that used it. You can see it buckling under the weight in other two games as devs push it more and more, but loading times and scripts simply can’t keep up. Also, I think HBS weren’t exactly comfortable going overboard with the budget they had and good chunk probably went to those pretty nice backgrounds and soundtrack.

Evolve

Well justifiable or not it turned out to be what it is - not a bad game, just not as good as it could’ve been.
