Kletar and the Unholy Backlog Kletar’s profile

Well.. i have a backlog. Or rather backlogs. Apart from the gaming one, i also have extensive backlogs for movies/ tv shows/ cartoon series and podcasts. I decided to do something about the gaming one so here i am. The problem with having so many stuff i want to go through, is that i constantly have to push one backlog to the side in order to focus on going through another. That means that i don’t know how consistent i can be in my gaming habits as for example i might play a game one day and then not play it again for some days because i was preoccupied with movie watching or something else.

Plan/Categorization

  • I will keep my backlog attack plan simple. At least for now. I will keep at maximum 3-4 games “in progress”. That will be the games i am actively going through as frequently as i can/am in the mood for. I will try to give greater priority to gaming instead of my other backlogs and especially concentrate on playing SG wins first. I’ll update every once in a while when i finish a game or to add new games to be played.

  • I will categorize all games i have finished as “Completed” even if i didn’t get 100% achievements. I always explore everything in a game, do every single side quest, try every mode etc. but i am not an achievement hunter. I might get the easy achievements but those that require playing a game a certain way or second playthroughs for example, i skip over. When i finish a game, i believe i am 100% done with it and seen everything the game had to offer. Thus, i don’t think categorizing as simply “Beaten” the main story would be an accurate representation of my time spent with a game.

  • I’ll use “Beaten” for games that i have beaten but that might require more than 1 playthrough to experience the whole game or ones that i might want to re-play for some reason (big update dropped that changed things a lot, new DLC etc.)

My favorite genre is RPGs. Any kind of RPG really but my most favorite would be dungeon crawlers, top down tactical ones and those focusing on good storytelling and choices. One exception would be JRPG. I am not that fond of them (perhaps because i never owned a console and grew up on western RPGs) but i might still play them if i find they’re good enough. Second favorite genre would be Strategy with Turn-Based Strategy being my favorite type.

And that’s about it. What else is there to say? Oh, i tend to write really long sentences so…. sorry if you’re tired of reading but hey you made it to the end :D

Humble Beginnings

Hello there, first update! I have categorized my games and picked some games to tackle. Gonna take it a bit slow as not to get overwhelmed or bored by playing multiple games and finishing none. Happened plenty of times and is one of the reasons why i wanted to join BLAEO. I have a lot of “open” games. Either i tried them at one time or have made progress in them already. So, i am gonna first focus on closing these games before trying any of my unplayed ones. Starting with 4 games.

Costume Quest 2

Beaten the first Costume Quest and going to try the sequel. The first one was pretty decent but fairly simplistic and kinda repetitive. It does have some elements that vary the gameplay up a bit though and i found the artstyle and presentation to be rather nice. It was lighhearted and amusing so i enjoyed my time with the game. Expecting the sequel to be pretty similar but hopefully with more expanded gameplay.

Blue Estate

Not a great fan of on-rails shooters but i liked this one so far. Over the top action and humor. It isn’t that long so i should be able to reach the end rather quickly.

Beholder

I guess this one favors multiple playthroughs as things may turn out different each time and choices can have consequences. No definitive ending as far as i know so i am gonna try to at least reach one of the endings and see as much of the game as i can. It’s gonna take me some time.

Divine Divinity

Done more than 100 hours and i am still not even close to the ending. Still a lot of stuff to do as i like to read all the dialogue, solve all quests and take everything that isn’t nailed down and the game has tons of all that! Will leave it aside and play the shorter games first but i want to keep my playthrough going so i will sneak in some hours every now and then.

First batch is selected, now begins the game assassinating!
No screenshots for now :’( Must remember to add some in the next update. And write some more stuff!
