So there is that, if Hogwarts will get some bad glances, I will just add that I got it to remember my mom by (I did get 2 angry messages on steam and 1 person unfriended me) … so… yeah not much else I want to say about this month…
Recommendations are always a great thing though :D
I’ve only really played Coloring Game 4, out of all these. It’s not much different than the previous games from the series. Although I don’t own that exact version of Pixel Puzzles: Japan, I’d guess it’s identical to all the other Pixel Puzzles games, too.
The discourse surrounding Hogwarts Legacy is unfortunate for sure. I’m still looking forward to playing it regardless. I’ve been a HP fan for years before everything went down - not my fault they finally came out with the dang game by the time nobody wanted it!
Hehe yeah thats right, agree on everything here. I enjoy the PP games, so thats why I Got it :)
I wouldn’t rely on online discourse to reflect what’s happening in the real world. Hogwarts Legacy sold 12 million copies in its first two weeks, and has sold over 40 million copies… which is ridiculous considering it was on Gamepass as well. The forthcoming TV series will also live and die on its own merits, and not on Rowling’s.
I take the somewhat amoral position that the art and the artist can and should be kept somewhat separate (not that Harry Potter is great art). Picasso and Hitchcock and Roald Dahl were monsters, and there are so many creative types far worse than Rowling still alive too.
(Jekofob, hope you’re finding life rather easier half a year on)
Sure, but that’s for everyone to decide depending on how they feel about both the artist and the art. I regularly watch a YouTube channel that’s had a snark subreddit dedicated to it for longer than I’ve been subscribed and at a certain point, reading it made me quit watching for about a year. I only came back because I realized the joy the content brings me far outweighs some randos’ issues.
This, however, is much more complicated than someone delivering mediocre content. Rowling has successfully alienated a part of her audience on the basis of their gender identity. I’m not trans, but I don’t think of myself as cisgender, either, so my nostalgia for HP now feels uncomfortable to me.
I’m sure online discourse differs from the real state of things, as it does in regards to many other subjects, but… you’ll have to excuse me, I don’t feel like I’m equipped to debate this topic.
Understood – from some rando on the internet ;-)
