Not gonna lie I’ve just been clocking in like 150 hours on Disney Dreamlight but I have finished some other games since I last posted.

I don't know why I sat on this game for so long. I heard amazing things, it sounded up my alley, but in my library it sat. The release of the second game finally brought it back to my attention, and oh boy am I glad it did.

Of course, the main pro of this game is the music. Even people I know who didn't love this game, had nice things to say about the music. It really set an excellent mood for the game and battles, and was the perfect beat for combat.

The gameplay is pretty unique. Without spoiling much, especially the first half is unique, and honestly, probably my preferred half. We'll just say it's music-based combat with bits of an undertale spin on it.

The story was… whack. In a good way. Parts were a bit hard to follow, and you partially don't know what's going on until the end, but I still really enjoyed it. I only did a single playthrough and did miss some of the secrets, so perhaps that would add to it even more. Overall, it was really enjoyable and whack.

Please make sure to head the HUUUUUUGE flashing lights warning. As someone never bothered by that, man, did this game hurt my eyes and brain at some points. I loved every second of it, though.

A beautiful puzzle game with a touching story.

I'll admit, the gameplay to this is pretty minimal. It's just solving puzzles of getting from point A to point B. Very simple platforming puzzles. And to top it off, they are all entirely skippable, and I believe doing so only makes you miss one line of dialogue or something like that. But still, as someone who enjoys puzzles, they were pretty relaxing and chill. A few I needed to think about but nothing really hard.

The art is beautiful. I'm a big fan of pixel graphics, and this game nails them, especially with the backgrounds. The animations are smooth and flow naturally. The atmospheres really suit what is going on.

The story is… it's something. Very convoluted and confusing at times, but it all wrapped up pretty well in the end. It's hard to touch on without spoilers, but I can see how some people may not like it. While aspects left me frustrated, overall, it was a really enjoyable story!

This game is pretty easy to 100%, with only one achievement really having been needed to be looked up, and pretty easy to get back and get considering you can skip puzzles.

A very simple auto-battler with cute mechanics and enemies.

With luck of the draw when it comes to what dice you roll (meaning how strong they are), you want to be able to roll as many dice as you can. Your dice can have multiple powers that you can unlock with the skill tree system. Certain enemies drop certain currency which allows for you to upgrade certain aspects. Reach new enemies using the prestige system. Honestly, it's quite simple.

While parts can feel a little grindy, especially at the start, overall the flow was nice and the game takes under two hours to beat. The gameplay is pretty minimal, as it is an auto battler, but rounds are short enough you're not really left just sitting there, bored. The upgrades can overall be obtained very fast, but there is definitely an advantage to selecting the right upgrades first.

The graphics are quite basic pixel graphics, but honestly, really fit the game. The character designs are very simple but pleasant, and I actually really love the designs of the simple dice people.

There's really no story to speak of in this game. Just play through 8 levels of prestige with new enemies, and then take down the final boss. Boom, that's it.

Overall, a pretty fun way to kill time!

A short and simple puzzle game about messing with your mind via optical illusions.

This game is nothing short of beautiful. Each stage uses new colors and designs, as well as introducing new illusions that hurt your brain to the perfect degree. Nothing too challenging, but it definitely leaves your brain feeling uncomfortable at what you're able to accomplish.

The story is pretty minimal. Its there, with a little bit added each level, but its very much not the focus of the game. Usually, I prefer something more story-oriented than this, but I feel like I was given just enough to keep me interested in what was going on. The ending to the story was absolutely my favorite part, I will say. It tied it together quite nicely.

The gameplay is very simple. As the game was originally a mobile game, it's basically done just by clicking. Fortunately, it does have controller support now and functioned seamlessly on my steamdeck.

Overall a very relaxing and beautiful game.

I was worried that playing this so soon after the first game would leave me bored. However, this game had a more clear story than the first, and added more mechanics. While it's still a point and click game, as expected from a game originating as a mobile game, there's different ways of solving the puzzles.

The art continues to stun and amaze me, despite the simplicity. You get more character designs in this game, which despite their similarities manage to be unique. The colors are always an astounding choice that can easily captivate.

As I said, this game has more story, as well as a moment where the path splits between both characters and you can play both sides. I found it really interesting and it did draw me in more than the first.

Just like the first game, the mechanics are incredibly simple, due to its origins. With the new controller support, the game ran seamlessly on my steam deck, though I imagine it may be a little faster on a PC.

I absolutely loved this and am so glad they published a third, I eagerly await it's drop on steam.

hahahaha here's where all of my time goes oops. This game is stupidly addicting for essentially being a bunch of fetch quests. It's very similar to animal crossing, especially in the way you can basically get lost doing absolutely nothing for hours.

While the game is definitely a money grab in some ways, overall I've more than gotten my moneys worth between the base game and the two current DLCs. With around 260 hours, it more than beats my ideal price of a dollar per hour of gameplay. The base game already includes so much to do, and the DLC just adds more characters, quests, areas, and items.

Getting to hang out with Disney characters is way more entertaining than it should be. They interact with each other as well as you, and are just… very goofy and fun. Stitch picking on Donald is always a highlight of my day.

The game itself is very basic. You can farm, cook, decorate, and hang out with villagers. Hanging out with them while you do things helps them level up, which unlocks more quests. Quests can advance the story, though even beating the story there's plenty to do. Each character can level up to level 10, and you can level up to level 40. At this point, I have almost every available character up to level 10, and yet I don't want to stop playing. Fortunately, new characters are added constantly, meaning you can always look forward to more content.

For the DLCs:

A Rift in Time:
I disagree with a lot of the hate on this DLC. I think some parts were updated since the original hate, but overall, I found it really fun! Gaston is… so goofy, and Eve alone makes it worth it. Plus, Oswald, ohmygod unlocking him was actually the best part I think. I really liked the areas and items that it added, plus capybara!! My beloved. I do think the pricetag is steep, but I definitely got a lot of gameplay out of it, so I don't mind.

Storybook Vale:
I do agree that this DLC is probably the stronger of the two. Bug catching is usually my favorite part in games, but I have to admit, it got old a little fast here. Especially with the way the demon sprites just… teleport and you have to get them AGAIN within a certain time frame, but they can pass through walls and you can't sooo…
Flynn and Merida's interactions were hilarious.
I got a lot of gameplay out of this one, and there's still half of it to come out some time this summer. Can't wait to see the rest of it :)

Eyyy I love to see someone played and loved Everhood, it’s such a hidden gem. All the songs are bangers and trying to no hit the battles were genuinely fun for me, even tho I usually don’t like to do these challenges. :3
