September’s Stats

aka. Busy month with a busy backlog

Hey there fellow assassins! I hope you had a great September and lots of time to play. In here it was a little hectic but at least I played some good games (and some really bad ones too, gotta admit). Have some stats! Take care and have fun.

That’s a beautiful banner! Where is it from?

Great games this month….Potion Permit looks very interesting. Did you enjoy it?

EvilBlackSheep

The banner is a screenshot from Wayward Strand :)

I did enjoy Potion Permit a lot (put 28h to finish it) but I had a bit of a mixed review situation for mostly 3 reasons :

  • It still is quite buggy at different levels of annoyance (I even got softlocked in the main quest towards the end and had to wait a few days for a patch. At least the devs seems to be actively correcting what people report)
  • It gets VERY grindy at some point (you have to collect lots of wood/stones to improve stuff but also to advance different steps of the main quest)
  • They came up with 20+ euros of BS day one DLCs (which more than double the base price if you buy them) for cosmetic items. Ok you don’t have to buy them (i didn’t) but without buying them the customization of furniture inside your house is almost inexistant. Is that normal that one feature that should be basic in your game COSTS MORE THAN THE BASE GAME ITSELF ? (yes that annoyed me on principle).

That being said, I had a great time overall and was happy to have something like that to scratch my Stardew-like itch. Just be aware of those negative points before jumping into it eventually ;)

Thanks for the review! Good to know that there are still some bumps in the game. I mean, I have enough other stuff to play anyway :D

And I totally get that your upset about the DLC policy…I mean, we all know by now, that cosmetic DLCs are a thing for better or worse, but that sounds really scummy. I don’t think I know another game where the price of one single DLC is higher than the game itself (ok, apart from some free games where you can purchase the OST or something like that, but that’s another matter imho…)

Good luck with your next month’s gaming :)

I mean it’s multiple small dlcs but the total is still higher than base game on Day1. There is multiple games that do that but it’s still annoying me every time.

For PP, i’d say keep an eye out when it’ll be inevitably bundled or discounted. It’s still mostly enjoyable if you like those type of games.
