I tried years ago playing Commandos so it has been quite a while since playing this genre. It has a solid gameplay. In the beginning, things required lot of trial and error but got easier once you understood the mechanics better. Still got slightly stuck in some cases so save-load-save buttons were hammered a lot.

GOD EATER 2 Rage Burst

77.1 hours, 36 of 47 achievements

This game took so long to finish. Started playing it November 2020. It has same gameplay problems that the first one had: crafting is clunky (hundreds of materials without possibility to filter), maps and missions repeat themselves (kill monster A, kill monster B in same map, kill monster A red version in other map), and so on. In the end, it is okayish Monster Hunter game with more rapid action and stronger anime vibes. Unlikely to play the third one, though.

Congratulations on all of your assassinations and for beating God Eater 2, I thought about getting into that game but the reviews had me shy away to work on other stuff…

What do the reviews say? It is really similar to God Eater 1 with some changes to certain mechanics but the core gameloop is identical and pretty much so is the whole game structure. If you enjoyed the first one, you enjoy also this (and likely hate both in the opposite case).

Lots of same enemies + repetitive missions and grinding, something about a timer but also, those achievements look annoying to 100%. I have played neither.

Game has grinding and lots of it. Same maps, same enemies, even more same enemies but now in a different color and stat boosts. Taste the difference! Missions have timers but they rarely matter. Cannot recall ever having troubles with it. If you have played Monster Hunter, this series is the anime version of it.
