RobbyRatpoison's March 2026 BLAEO Review

Yo yo, sorry I’m late with my monthly recap. I have been quite busy working on and releasing my library management program! Check the SG thread if you’re interested. I am still working on adding new features but it’s already pretty powerful. You can automatically get your completion status and lists from BLAEO and it has a tool for finding your PAGYWOSG compatible games. Anyways, I will probably keep it short this time.

Mega Mosaic is just minesweeper but big and it makes a picture and each section gets colored in as it is finished. I like minesweeper and it was a nice way to pass the time while listening to stuff in the background. It’s basically an automatic 100%, you get all the achievements just by beating the game. One Finger Death Punch 2 is a throwback, I played the original in 2014 and started this one back in 2019. This one had some really tricky achievements but I managed to 100% it. I liked the first game but I lost all my progress years ago because there is no Steam cloud support. The Expanse was alright, maybe would’ve been more enjoyable if I had watched the show. I didn’t even know it was based on a show when I started. Didn’t feel compelled to go for 100% on this one. I got the remaining achievements in A Little To The Left by manipulating my system date/time so I could do a bunch of daily tidys in a row. See last my post from last month if you want my opinions. Angvik 2 was another throwback of sorts, I enjoyed playing the original back in 2019. They are pretty tough, managed to beat them both a few times each but 100% is too much.

I had previously overlooked PlayDate, but I’ll take another look! I’m still a zealot for Playnite but your integrations with the SG ecosystem are worth checking for sure :)

Thanks! I loved Playnite and it’s the only thing I miss about being on Windows. If you do try it please let me know if there are features you want me to add from Playnite or just from your imagination. I’m currently working on GOG integration and hiding duplicates.

I installed it yesterday and I’m seriously impressed with how slick the presentation is. Incredible work, really.

I don’t see if replacing Playnite for me since I have so many libraries there haha but PlayDate will definitely complement Playnite. The PAGYWOSG filters worked incredibly well, it was honestly a bit shocking how easy it was to get the current event filters set up and see HOW many games fit for the month. A bit jaw-dropping if I’m being honest haha

I do rely a lot on the sidebar in Playnite for additional info about games. So like, I look at a cover, and usually click on it to get info about HLTB, achievements, Play status, dev, rating, etc all delivered through the sidebar. I saw some little info was displayed on PlayDate when I hovered over the game cover (I think it was HTLB min time, probably because that was the field I was using for sorting), but I couldn’t find an easy way of seeing that additional info. I don’t want to bias you on a direction or prescribe a solution, but think if that’s a problem worth solving and how you would approach it. It’s a cool design exercise :)

Other than that, count me as an advocate. I don’t see myself uninstalling PlayDate anytime soon hehe if I think of more stuff I’ll reach out on the official thread for better record keeping. Congrats anyway!!
