Welcome to 2026… hopefully this year I can successfully reduce the growth of the backlog even more… for every 1 game I beat I added ~5 last year.
starting this year with a very hefty pile of very long secret santa gifts and SG wins to play… good ones at that so it should be a great year.
Honestly… I think I would have been happier just leaving it at the original trilogy, wasn't bad… but other than POP I didn't feel much push to finish it.
its forever out of the backlog at least.
got 4/5 endings, not doing the bring the delicate flower to the npc dude in junkyard just to do the 40+ minute boss rush gauntlet again for a slightly different ending(no achievements attached). 112% completion in 27.5hrs per the in game time tracker.
loved it, apparently the game just clicked for me… I remember going to sleep feeling like I suck and waking up feeling like I played like a pro
did have a couple game crashes sadly… one of them right before the big final battle of Pantheon 5.
… and the best part? I won silksong hours before starting this, will be a little bit before I start that though.
going to be lazy on my reviews this month.

honestly… a disappointment, was expecting something a bit closer to fire emblem… what I got was an easy mobile game feeling game.
I won't be doing other route endings or even touching the 2nd game of the collection… Do regret buying this.
skillissue.exe came preinstalled with the new down strike being at an angle! I dashed straight into environmental hazards so many times.
then I found the wanderer's crest and uninstalled skillissue.exe, once I got the dash and clawline things were game over for the enemies, I was far to mobile for them!
I may have done many glitches to get into areas I shouldn't be in slightly earlier than intended… blame Team Cherry for giving me flying enemies near double jump locked areas… safer than damage boosting glitches in Metroid games to.
the sound of parrying everything that can be parried is wonderful.
Nice little prequel to Planetarian
its been ages since I touched a final fantasy game… the last one was on a handheld(GBA or DS), FFI and II Dawn of souls, 3 and 4 are the only ones in this franchise I had played before this.
still undecided how I feel about this game as a whole, there was some good and bad aspects… and some pretty noticeable design flaws.

The Butterfly Collector

connected to the fault series, do not need to play them first to enjoy them.
Congratz, also having Hollow Knight + Caravan + SUPERHOT to complete one day …
what I got was an easy mobile game feeling game.
Huh, weird. I remember playing the original (Warsong for Sega Genesis) and finding it to be quite difficult within the first few levels. Maybe they made the remake easier? The reviews seem to corroborate this, so maybe you’d prefer emulating the original games?
maybe… but if I am going to go emulate old games I might as well go play the fire emblem games that haven’t made it to modern systems yet in some form.

I always characterize Andromeda as a good game, but a bad Mass Effect entry.
