Hey

This seems like a good time for a little update. I’ve mostly kept myself busy with Deus Ex and the GMDX mod, playing them concurrently, but I’ve also managed to squeeze in a little time for games on my Attack plan. Well, at least one game, namely Cyberhunt which I had picked because of previous positive experience with games from NukGames. However, it turns out that my expectations were a bit too high for me to enjoy this game like I did with Planes, Bullets and Vodka and to a slightly lesser degree Razortron 2000. Still, not a bad game but the control scheme is just not for me. I may get back to it at some point but I got bored pretty quickly.

There’s also Supreme League of Patriots episode one and two that I’ve managed to push myself through despite my initial disappointment but I fear I might not continue with episode three. It’s supposed to be a witty point and click but I found most of the jokes pretty stale and they have a very preachy undertone despite using stereotypes for their own jokes. At least I’ve played episode two that I won on SG now :)

Oh, and I almost forgot, I’ve played Linea, the Game a bit as well. It’s a quite nice minimalistic runner type of game but I fear it might just be a wee bit too hard for me. I’ll give it some more time before calling quits though. I have to say that the similar and free game Brainpipe seems more intriguing though.

Sorry about this, boring as usual, wall of text. I’ll try to come up with some kind of formatting to make it more entertaining to read in the future, but no promises :P
It’s probably a good thing that I couldn’t find my post from the application thread on SG that I wanted to put at the bottom lol, maybe next time ;)

I personally love walls of text. The more to read the better! I also didn’t really care for Supreme League of Patriots. I felt like it could have been a fun goofy game if the humor wasn’t so awkward and cringy. Nice work on your progress!

That’s good. If you like walls of text maybe you won’t hate it when I eventually find my rambly questions from the recruitment thread and repost them here :P

Regarding Supreme League it’s probably more disappointing to me because it felt like they have put a fair amount of work into the game and I would have liked it more if they just toned down the try-hard joking a little bit.

Nah, as long as it has paragraphs, it’s not a wall of text. So all’s good ;D

Pfft not boring at all. Sorry to hear you’ve had some disappointments recently, hope the next games you pick up are better. :) Good luck with Linea! The whole “restart a level every time you fail” can definitely be hard as nails and frustrating after a while. Doesn’t help that a lot of these games are really trippy on the eyes haha.

Good to hear. I may have made it sound worse than I intended but expectations can have a pretty damning effect on my experience sadly enough. Although low expectations can also be a blessing and I’ve been able to enjoy e.g. Deus Ex: The Fall where most people seem to absolutely hate it.

I quite like the concept behind Linea but I feel like they could have made it a wee bit easier from the beginning to ease newbs like me into it.:)
