Progress report: May ‘26 (a.k.a. Thinking About Quitting…)

…not entirely, though! I just feel like I might have to stop writing reviews, again. I’ve had this post ready to go for a while now, but I’ve been failing to get myself to publish it.
I also started playing a new live service game for the first time in a while, so that’s been eating up a considerable amount of my time…

Here’s what happened this month:

Half-Life 2

100 Dino Cats

0.0 hours
100 of 100 achievements

Man, I completely forgot to write about this one after finishing it. (I wish I was joking for novelty's sake, but I'm really not.)
You know the drill, though. It's just… more of this, as usual.

Half-Life 2

Coloring Cats: Sports with Friends

3.8 hours
78 of 78 achievements

Will I ever tire of coloring games? That remains to be seen. Anyway, this one's from Mens Sana Interactive, which means it's got quality art and music (a collection of picks from their other games, no less!) It's very short and casual, a "pick up and put back down whenever" kind of game.
My one tiny annoyance with it is having to switch between colors manually, even if a certain color was completed. That, and although it's a nice touch that the notification about a color being completed shows up in that exact color each and every time, the dark colors make it hard (or impossible, even) to read.
It's nice to watch the photos get filled in with the characters as you color them in, then get developed. An easy recommendation for something chill to play with kids.

Not a lot, is it? Eah…
…see you next month?

What live service did you got into? Those eat up so much time it’s crazy. I recently got back into Dead by Daylight because of a friend, and damn I forgot how “demanding” my brain is to myself with a live service game like that. :P
For reviews, I find they are especially difficult when your mental capacity is just not there. I went through a couple years break twice on BLAEO cuz of that myself, it can be tough!

Uta no Prince-sama: Live Emotion. In many ways, it’s a sub-par experience compared to its predecessor, but at the end of the day, I still enjoy rhythm games.
More importantly, though… my ultimate bias is from UtaPri, so that’s my main reason for continuing to play it despite all its shortcomings.
Now that the ongoing event doesn’t involve him, I’m taking it easy and collecting resources for the next one.

Ahhh, rhythm live service game. I used to play BanG Dream, the girl idol version I suppose. Actually tried to get back into it a while ago but couldn’t get my old account back. :<
And I know the feeling! I had a character I liked in BanG Dream as well and would work extra hard on events involving her. x3 It is the way with character live service games, spend currency on event that you care about, and accumulate currency on the events that you don’t.

I played BanDori for a bit in high school, then bounced about as soon as I unlocked all the achievements, haha. It’s where I heard Charles for the first time and if I had to guess, Roselia’s cover would still probably be my favorite version. (Totally had to go and listen to it again as I’m typing this.)

Out of curiosity, who was your fave? For games I play without knowing the source material, I tend to latch onto whatever chara I think I’d like and hope that tracks if I ever get to the anime. (I’m out of the loop big time, though, so I’ve not had a chance to test that.)

Shirokane Rinko! I think she reminded me of myself, since I was also a shy girl, so I really wanted to hang out with her and give her all the love. :3
I didn’t know there’s an anime actually, I only played the game. x3 For me it’s vibe based, usually from the appearance of the character, their personality + some of the earlier dialogues.

I only recently concluded that I really like genki characters, which I think would explain most (if not all) of these presumed biases of mine.

From what I remember, my BanDori focus was entirely on Hello, Happy World!… so maybe that’s why when Project Sekai first rolled around, I ended up choosing Wonderlands x Showtime. (I might have gone for MORE MORE JUMP! instead if they had a guy, haha.)

All my Love Live! faves (I think?) fit the bill as well.
(I’m only up to Nijigasaki thanks to the All Stars game, still haven’t watched past OG S1 of the anime…)
It was hard to choose a fave from Muse from the very beginning and so I feel like that might be the only case so far where I think it might have changed? Otherwise, I’m just loyal like that, I guess? haha
