Mad Max

Mad Max ⭐️⭐⭐⭐☆

Action Open World
45 hours playtime, 41 of 49 achievements (84%)

I bought it long ago when it had price glitch on Steam. And decided last month that it's time to dust it off, as next sale is coming.

It's typical open world game where plot act as a reason to explore map and find stuff - just like in Skyrim, Fallout 4 and so on. Fight mechanics is Batman-like - LMB LMB, LMB, RMB, space, repeat. So nothing fancy. Looks like devs like this simple scheme, as it's console friendly and eye-catching. Graphic is really nice (esp dust storm sequences), textures didn't load right before me (like in F4 or DA:I). Driving a car is enjoyable (even when it can start to spin like crazy without good reason)

Game isn't bug-free, I had some weird problems with getting stuck on the opposite side of textures. Like if you start to fill up car with gasoline Max has this rather lengthily animation. But when you do this game puts you behind car. And if car is parked too close to something after animation you're "inside rock" without way to escape. So you have to reload checkpoint. Game is also terribly grindy and repetitive, I think that without picking up collectibles I'd be able to end it in like 30h. But you need this grind to have scrap to get achievements... so I had been collecting it. But there is no way that I will spend more time on this grind, that's why I'm marking this game as beaten.

Undertale

Undertale ⭐️⭐⭐⭐⭐

Choice matter Rich story
13 hours playtime, no achievements

I will say only one thing. If you didn't - play it. Reading anything about plot will ruin fun, so avoid spoilers. Just decide if you're good/bad boy/girl and stick to this choice through the game. But at the same time it's clearly not game for everyone, as it can be frustrating when you're dying over and over and over again...

Just don't judge this game bc of graphic, it's totally secondary thing. It really fits with music (warning: it's addictive D:) and fight system. I have to end genocide route now, but after true pacifist it will feel rather strange.

And if you don't want to buy it at 50% discount during some sale, IMO it's insta-buy for BTA tier of some bundle.

Paladins

Paladins ⭐️⭐⭐⭐☆

Action Multiplayer
48 hours playtime, 22 of 33 achievements (67%)

I unlocked achievement for boosting characters to 5th level, and I played with most chars I wanted to try. So I will mark this one as beaten. It's enjoyable, tho it can be annoying when you stumble on team of "omg I'm so great, you're all losers" and they play separately instead of trying to coordinate stuff. Like healers which heal only themselves (and have 12 kill streak, so they're so great but teammates are constantly dead), or tanks that don't use shields on capture point, but focus on killing enemies away from it.

You can unlock chars and their abilities without problems just by playing. Only cosmetic stuff is put behind paywall. Which is cool. There is no long grind for better stuff that makes your hero more powerful.

Sakura Beach 2

Sakura Beach 2 ⭐️⭐⭐☆☆

Won on SteamGifts Visual novel
6 hours playtime, no achievements

I started this one few months ago and forget about it. It's silly story about guy who kinda wants to have girl harem, but have on idea how to do this. And he doesn't even kiss anyone. If you longer for view of half-naked girls it's game for you. Otherwise you will waste few hours of your life and won't even be able to have +1 "100% achievements" to your Steam profile, as game doesn't have achievements

Qbeh-1: The Atlas Cube

Qbeh-1: The Atlas Cube ⭐️⭐⭐☆☆

Logic Puzzle
8 hours playtime, 7 of 17 achievements (41%)

I really enjoyed this game, but left it unplayed due to lack of time. When I wanted to go back to it this month, it turned out that game lost my progress. And I don't want to beat the same levels for another 8h to start from the point when I left it. So I will count this one as beaten. That's also reason why I gave 3 stars instead of 4. When I looked for solution to my problem it turned out that I'm not the only one who lost saves. So it's game flaw, not Steam problem.

But overall game was enjoyable, puzzles are nice and game mechanic is unique. Albeit somewhat similar to Q.U.B.E.

And few games I'm playing recently

- Far Cry 3 (no achievements) - I firstly played a bit in co-op, but it's not the best. Short, separate from main game campaign with tons of enemy waves. Plus due some weird graphic glitches it's hard to spot stuff in dark. Single Player looks better, especially because I have bow (I love killing stealthy with bow <3). But it feels a little like copy-pasta from FC: Blood Dragon (which I beat some time ago). So I don't think I will buy FC:4 or FC:Primal, as it's most probably another copy-pasta of activities with another plot.

- Hunie Pop (7 of 20 ach) - I was laughing at my friend for playing in it. And look what I bought on this sale D: Good stuff is that I payed like 1,5€ for it, as cards are pricey. Match-3 game with half-naked ladies. I want to have 100% achievements in it, so will have to spend some more time playing.

- King's Bounty: The Legend (no achievements) - strategy game, which is somewhat similar to HOMM series. But without city management part. And with tons of text. Like srsly, sometimes I just skip whole dialogues, bc they're too lengthily and not really entertaining.

- Road to Gehenna DLC from Talos Principle (2 of 4 ach) - played a little more, tho I'm bored with it quickly. So it will have to wait for better times

- Star Wars: knight of the Old Republic (31 of 57 ach) - Played for like 2h, so I'm on good road to complete my DS gameplay. Tho didn't earn any achievements, I'm just past Telos polar region.

The writing in King’s Bounty is not exactly stellar.. But the gameplay is at least solid. I just wish the game would have been a bit shorter.

Also, Mad Max was a 20h game for me, and even that was probably a bit too much…

Driving around and collecting postcards, scrap, schematics, cleaning bases and so on was cool to some point. But there was breaking point of “OMG it’s so repetitive, when it will end?”. But I already spend so much time on collecting this junk, that I decided I will force myself to end this. I wanted to get achievements for using archangels, but again - it’s long and boring.

But yeah, if you hate gameplay which consist of “(map - search point - take loot - map - search point - take loot )n” it’s not game for you xD

Fnord

Unless they do something to spice up the “go from point to point on map”, then I’m not a fan. There were some nice spots that were highlighted by collectibles that I visited, but all the other ones I just ignored after the early game.

Formidolosus

Haha… paladins, I agree with you on the try-hards who don’t play like they need to. Funniest was one time when I was playing as healer, sitting on the point with my brother who was the frontline and another guy who was an archer. So we are all taking the point, doing our job basically. And then this kinessa on the chat cries “Healer, where the #@$@ are you? Do your #$@@!# job?” and it turns out he’s camped out somewhere far away from anyone serving no purpose expecting me to chase after him and keep him alive so he can keep up his streak. Yeah and pretty much every game has at least one guy more concerned about his ‘streak’ than about actually trying to win. Screw that guy!

Barghest

Nice progress, Mskotor! I’m really glad that you enjoyed Undertale, even though the fanbase effectively killed most of my pleasant thoughts about this game. :(

Mskotor

Like on some art forum, ship thingy or smth?

I tried to avoid spoilers as much I could, so I stand as far from fanfiction and ship fights as possible.

Barghest

Ships, arts, theories and everything else that just drips cringe all over the place. I actually managed to play Undertale without spoiling it for myself and absolutely loved it, but now my main reaction to it is just “Ugh, it’s this game with the atrocious fandom again…”
