2022 Report

31 December - “Hi 2023, will you be a better year than the last one?”. First day of 2023 - my husband ended up in hospital. “Yea… you know, 2023, just forget that I asked anything….”

I didn’t have time or energy to sum up the whole year for the obvious reasons, so let’s not talk about the whole craziness, let’s talk about some good games.

Number of beaten games: 71 - significantly less than year before (99), but I feel there were more bigger games

New games: 72 (6 less than year before)

So my backlog is officially at +1 at the end of the year. I can live with that

Best game

Elden Ring - yea, I’m not original - this is an awesome game, and I don’t even like the original Dark Souls trilogy. But this one, thanks to the open world, fixed all the problems I had in DS series and left huge amount of fun for me.

Control - Such good world building… An immersive sim with everything happening in one building full of supernatural stuff. The world was incredibly interesting, and I just hope that there will be second part, I need more lore.

Biggest Surprise

Stray - yea, I know everyone loved it, but before the release I was 100% sure that it will be bad game based on one gimmick. And I’m incredibly happy, that I was wrong.

Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap - this is a remake of 30-years-old game. It shouldn’t give me so much fun.

Worst game I actually finished

Odyssey - The Story of Science - Sorry guys, I love games, I love reading, but when half of the gameplay is me reading a book inside a game and then solving physics puzzles based on what I learnt… nope, I finished school couple of years ago, I don’t need another exam.

Most disappointing game

Raji: An Ancient Epic - I want to love this game, I really do. It is so pretty, the setting is so unique. But gameplay is just bad…
