#18 Monthly Status Update (December 2019)
Hi everyone! December was another month when I didn’t have time to play anything… (besides games on my new 2DS XL which is the first console I’ve ever bought! I still don’t have time to play PC games at home, but pulling out a handheld in a train or tram is a completely different story! ;D So far I’ve completed Professor Layton and the Curious Village as well as BoyBoy! and I’m having an amazing time with my new purchase! :) ) Well, at least I got a few more great additions to my backlog xD I’d even say that some of these games used to be one of my top wishlisted titles. Now I only need to find the time to actually play them… :#

I’m personally that weird who never really cares for the portable aspect of portable games, but rather about the games themselves. So yeah, when I play on DS/3DS I play at home.
Do you have any recommendations of games which are REALLY worth to play, but are not that popular? So far my list of bought/wishlist games includes mostly the games and series I’ve found in various “TOP X games on DS/3DS” such as Zelda, Super Mario, Mario Kart, Mario RPG, Yoshi, Kirby, Luigi’s Mansion, Donkey Kong Country, Professor Layton, Phoenix Wright, Fire Emblem, Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, Pushmo, Boxboy, Rhythm Heaven, Ever Oasis, Bravely Default, Dragon Quest, Kid Icarus: Uprising and Star Fox 64 3D.
I think you nailed pretty much all of them. Etrian Odyssey series is worth it if you’re into pretty intense dungeon crawler with deceptive anime aesthetic. Oh, I’d also check out Crimson Shroud if you want a JRPG kinda rooted in tabletop tradition of rolling dice for effect. It didn’t get a standalone release and instead was bundled with two other games. I even reviewed it a few years back.
I’m not that much into dungeon crawlers or JRPGs, but I tend to play trough one or two such games once in a while.
Thank you for your recommendations! I’ll check out some reviews of these games later and try to see whether they’re something I’d enjoy :)
Portal and Portal 2 are really some great additions. They shouldn’t take too long either :) Have fun with playing them!
