  • This month, I’ve mainly focused on Yakuza 0. 100+ hours of playtime and I haven’t even finished the story yet. I’m at the last chapter, at the final “point of no return”. Things are getting a bit out of hand and I’m supposed to be at a certain place doing something very, very important, but smart me decides that playing mahjong, going fishing and searching for telephone cards is more important… Thankfully, the baddies are polite enough to wait until I’m done loafing around… or they’re just incredibly slow. I’m going for 100% completion and so far I have 87% - getting close now!

  • Since most of my free time went into Yakuza 0, I haven’t had much time to play anything else, even on my phone. I’m now 2/3 through Anomaly Warzone Earth, halfway through Lumino City and in Evoland 2, I’ve reached the shmup part.

Unfinished games with no progress:

  • My Borderlands co-op partner, Garcias was without a PC for the most of August and was unable to play Borderlands this month. I hope we’ll be able to resume playing soon!

  • I’ve made absolutely zero progress on CSD2 and Creepy Castle since I started playing Yakuza 0. I’m putting them on hold for now and I’ll get back to them as soon as I’m done with Yakuza.

Conclusion

Yakuza 0 single-handedly stopped me from doing any significant progress on my backlog assassinations. I love this game and I really want to keep playing it, but there’s still over 300 games in my library that require my attention. As soon as I 100% Yakuza 0, I’ll be back to do some actual backlog assassinations! …until Yakuza Kiwami comes out.

By the way, I have a question for BLAEO Generators users - do you have any requests for features that you would like to be added? While I haven’t updated BLAEO Generators since May, I’m still here to fix the generator in case something breaks or add something that may be of use to someone.

Ohhhh mannnn I want to play Yakuza 0 so friggin badly. It looks hysterical and like a fun romp. I want to get all sucked into it, too…! I think a month spent having fun is still a month spent killing your backlog, even if it’s just one game. How amazing will that 100% clear feel?

Definitely play Yakuza 0 when you get a chance. The story is top-notch and full of twists and turns, fighting is fun, the graphics look very good despite initially being a PS3 game and there’s tons of minigames and side content. The port is good too, but some people still have issues with the game crashing/freezing at certain points.

100%-ing this game is going to be one of my proudest achievements. There’s so much stuff to do - some things are hard (batting center, final 2 substories, climax battles, maybe disco), some are heavily RNG-based (catfights, gambling games) and some are just time consuming (Real Estate Royale and Cabaret Club Czar, collecting weapons/equipment). If Sega released PC ports of all Yakuza games in 1 day, I wouldn’t play anything else for a year!

Hey, just to let you know you unlock a 4th move set if you complete the business side stories! Something to look forward to!
Majima’s 4th moveset is his moveset in later choronological games. And I’d love to hear your opinions on that!

Also there is something fun that will happen once you complete all substories!

I think I won’t be able to get a 100% completion rate simply because of the disco, that’s so tough! but I’ll try my best.
The Yakuza franchise is hands-down my favorite without any competition, I’m really happy everyone finally got on board too!

I already unlocked both bonus styles. Majima’s bonus style is certainly very unique. It’s fun to use, but in my opinion it’s not as good as Majima’s other styles.

I’m already aware of what happens after completing all substories. Man, those fools just don’t know when to quit, eh? I kicked their butts in Yakuza 5 and I’m going to do it again!

Don’t give up on disco! If you aren’t good at disco, try going straight for the targets without making any extra steps. Don’t worry about the score just yet. Once you get the hang of that, start making a extra step or two. Make more extra steps as you get more confident in your skills. Just practice and you’ll be able to do it!

Oooooh not a new fan then! My bad!
A huge wave of fans started on from 0, so it was much more probable to be one as well.

Which game was your first?

Thanks on the tips on disco! My plan now is to finish 0’s story on the PC and then play Kiwami2 and then come back to 0 for a completion.
Replaying all these games does nothing to my backlog but I’m definitely happy with them!

Yakuza 5 was my first game, followed by 3 and now 0. I got Y5 thinking it’s similar to GTA… While I didn’t get what I expected, I still loved the game and now I’m a series fan.

Have fun with Kiwami 2 and good luck on getting completion in 0! I hope they’ll port the rest of the series to PC as well but for now I’m happy with 0 and Kiwami :)

Oh 5 must be one of the worst ones to start with. Imagine theres a rich history between you and haruka that you have not experienced in previous games and with such an emotional story between the two in 5, I don’t think it has the same effect as with people who have played the earlier games as well

I’d be happy if you can ptove me wrong though

6 was definitely a killer
