I’ve had finals and projects to give in for the past few weeks so I haven’t been able to play much but I did discover one of my new favorite series!

Event[0] is a slow paced walking simulator with text-based mechanics that tells a SciFi story through puzzles and witty dialogue. The gist of it is, you’re boarding a seemingly abandoned ship and interact with its AI in order to find out what happened. The outcome of the story depends in part on the relationship you build with the AI, which makes replays really interesting, although I didn’t find myself hugely invested in the story to begin with.
Verdict: Probably not a must play but definitely worth checking out if you like puzzle games and a cool space setting

Fabric is a first person puzzle game, definitely influenced by Portal but that still does it’s own thing. It slowly introduces interesting new mechanics which completely change the puzzles. But the puzzles themselves aren’t as tightly designed as one would want them to, there’s ways to cheat your way through a lot the puzzles and I often found myself wondering if I solved it the right way. Ad to that the lack of basically any story whatsoever, and I had to stop playing even though I got about 80% through. It just got boring and repetitive
Verdict: Take a pass on that one

Dark Souls… I put off playing this game for a while because I heard the series was insanely hard and the few videos I’d seen of it didn’t really inspire me at all. I finally decided to start playing it on a whim and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since! The game’s not actually that hard (I’m just cocky right now because I finally beat Ornstein and Smough after like 15 tries…). Sure the combat it challenging and you die a lot, but the game is built around dying to progress so you just have to accept that as a part of the mechanics of the game. And while it’s hard, the combat is mostly fair (except for mimics, fuck mimics.). The world and level designs are really what blows me away here though, there’s an immensely satisfying feeling that comes with being able to visit far away places after seeing them from another part of the map, or finding shortcuts and elevators looping through areas. And then there’s the euphoria that comes with finally beating a boss (did I mention I killed Ornstein and Smough?). The lore of the world is also really interesting although you’re only fed little tidbits at a time and a lot of it is hidden in levels and item descriptions, which really reward exploration and involved the players in the world, but you’re also bound to miss parts of it, which can leave some questions unanswered.
Verdict: Absolutely amazing. Beautiful, adrenaline pumping and mind blowing. I’m really looking forward to finishing this game (no spoiler please, btw) and the take on the rest of the series

Ahhh, Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition… I have no words to say how much I like this game hehe - I totally agree that dying is part of its experience but it gets easier, eventually and even then, we die a lot just to rise once again and go after our souls those we lost just to die in middle of our way hahahaha that’s so sad, but I got used to this and stopped caring about, except when I lost like 1 million of souls T-T

Mimics are fun!!! You can also use a talisman to get their items, so you don’t need to fight them. You need to know the mimics 2.0 in DS III - I hate them and their overpowered hits lol. Big congratulations killing Ornstein/Smough. They are the second hardest boss in my opinion first place goes to Four Kings. Hope you still have lots of fun playing the game. It’s definitely a great game that I’ll never get tired of playing :3
Plans to 100% it?

go after our souls just to die in middle of our way

Yeah that happens to me way to often lmao. The worst is when you die from a stupid thing like walking off a ledge or something.. I definitely think I’m past that point where you care about loosing your souls, especially after dying so many times to O&S

And mimics are genius! I just hate myself for falling for it twice… I’m just slashing every chest I come across now (I know you can distinguish them but I’m just paranoid now)

I’m sure I’ll have loads of fun finishing it! I don’t know about 100% though (I’m guessing you mean achievement-wise), I’ve only got 10 so far (and I’m pretty sure they’re all story achievements you can’t miss) and some seem very tedious considering my build (I’m not doing any sorcery, pyromancy or miracles for example)
