Progress report: Third week of August ‘19 (a.k.a. Did It Go Well This Time?)

Another week of solitude has passed… and now I’m not alone anymore. (Self-explanatory, I suppose.) If everything goes well, I should get my new furniture this week! Finally! (EDIT: LOL NO, the carpenter came over just to tell us it’s gonna be done in two weeks… SIGH.) Oh, and a mosquito net for my window! Don’t want any of those pesky insects getting into my room (wasps are hellspawns; change my mind).

As far as progress goes on other platforms, I can officially call myself a Skyclad Observer; meaning I finished Steins;Gate on my PSVita. Amazing art, memorable music, unique characters accompanied by top-notch voice acting - an easy 10/10 for me.

And as always, here’s my Steam game progress:

Chilie Peppers - Okay, so… this one is about a girl whose name was… Jessica, I think? - but everyone just called her “Chilie”. The main character, Beth, kept her distance from Chilie during middle school, but high school changed everything. Through some twists and turns, Chilie (now much more sexy than in middle school, obviously) starts living together with Beth and her parents. The girls, being joined at the hip, one day realize they’re in love with each other. The end.

Flow: The Sliding - An endless rhythm game that looks simple enough, but has no instructions on how to proceed. The achievements relate to pressing all the letter keys, so after achieving a personal record of 65 points, I did that and ultimately completed the game in five minutes.

Paradigm - Jacob Janerka’s debut title - Paradigm is set in the fictional, Eastern European country called Krusz. You are Paradigm - the “handsome mutant” forced to go on an adventure to stop the CEO of DUPA Genetics… even though he only wants to finish his new EP. As random as pretty much everything in this game is, the gameplay is streamlined and intuitive - no Sierra logic, no way to die - without holding your hand. The voice acting is solid, the art is striking (character art, especially) and the music beatsies are as phat as can be. If you’re into point-and-clicks, Slavic memes and 70’s/80’s culture, Paradigm is definitely for you. As for me, it’s been a favorite for a long time now.

Tokyo Hosto - I knew it was going to be bad… but I didn’t expect it to be this bad. I don’t even feel like writing about it - here is a good review I found. Honestly, it’s outstanding that this game features three (!) VAs that later went on to voice girls in HuniePop. I bet they wouldn’t remember acting for this game until you asked them about it.

Train Journey - Incestuous Behavior and Lesbian Sex on a Train: The VN. Last I’m seeing of this dev, for now at least.

If you have any recommendations, feel free to tell me! I… might play them… One Day™.

See you next week!

I very, very much dislike mosquitos. Even more so when I try to sleep and constantly hear one creeping up on me -.-
So yes, net! Totally approve of that! \o/
Sry to hear about your furniture though. That sucks :(

Hope you’ll have a great week :)

Surprisingly, mosquitoes haven’t been a problem at all this summer… but I am hot-blooded, so I could definitely use a shield from them too. My current concern is wasps - the summer was going to be written off as “all fine and dandy” in my book, but then those demons showed up and… needless to say, I panicked. Either way, I’m gonna get that net! :D

Yeahhh… instead of a cool and summery stuff unpacking session with music in the background, I’m gonna be a depressed daughter of a gun, probably struggling immensely to unpack everything day by day ;_;

Ah, thank you! Same to you :D

ninglor03

For some reason we had a lot of bumblebees in the house this summer. No idea why they’d do that, but it happened. We tried to save them all, but… yeah, some we didn’t notice early enough :(
Wasps though are a pest. Like mosquitoes only more aggressive. Or at least they hurt more. And no thank you -.-

But once it’s there you’ll appreciate it more. Probably. And be annoyed til then.
Sorry :(

I shall do my best! \o/

Amitte

You wouldn’t even believe… apparently wasps can sting multiple times without dying (why the hell can they do that instead of bees?), and if you kill one, its dead body exudes some hormone/pheromone/whatever that alerts other wasps there’s a dead comrade nearby… scary stuff.

I definitely will! I can’t wait to confidently open the window in my room (net) and unpack my stuff and sort it properly once again (furniture)! I’ll finally be able to play on my PS3 and PS4 whenever I can, too :D

ninglor03

Yeah, bc the sting doesn’t break off/is torn out of the body? That’s why bees die of it. They can actually survive it, if you just stay still until they can pull the sting out by them self and yay! Bee alive! But I guess you’d had to be hardcore for that. I know some… beeppl (what the heck are they called? o.o) do that. Although most probably don’t.
And yep, that’s something about survival. Bc dead wasp means enemy. Enemy means danger to hive. So they come together to attack enemy and be rid of it. Lovely fellows - not -.-

I’m keeping my fingers crossed it’ll all work out quicker then thought! :)

Amitte

Honestly… I would never be hardcore enough for that. I don’t even know if I’m allergic or not, I’ve never been stung! In our family, the only person brave enough to deal with bees and wasps is my mom - she can straight up let them sit on her hands, if the situation requires it, and then she lets them out the window. I don’t know what I’ll do when I have to move out of my family home >.<
Ugh, you’d wish it was reversed (bees, as opposed to wasps) or non-existent. Then it wouldn’t be as problematic.

Thanks! :D

ninglor03

Yeah, me neither. And apparently if not treated directly I react badly to stings, so yeah, not happening. Sry, bees :(
Well wasps are useful. I still don’t like them though.

Amitte

Yeah, I might have seen a little too much medical drama footage - terribly afraid of going into an anaphylactic shock or something ridiculous like that.
For now, the nearby wasps are useful for sniffing out garbage lol

You are Paradigm - the “handsome mutant” forced to go on an adventure to stop the CEO of DUPA Genetics.

FWIW, I believe that dupa is Polish for “rear end.”

Sorry about the furniture and bug issues! :(

Amitte

It is! You’re hearing it from a Pole :D That’s why it’s important to mention that Paradigm features precisely Slavic meme-age.

Oh, it’s okay! I believe I’m gonna get the net tomorrow, and as for the furniture… we’ve managed to deal with the carpenter we hired so far (too many random occurences for me to not keep getting annoyed, personally; mom does her best to be calm), I suppose we can see it through now. And back to the insects, I’m convinced that by now the nearby wasps are dedicated to the garbage dump; a few years back they had a nest on a part of our block, that was scary as all hell.

Trent

It is! You’re hearing it from a Pole :D

Oh! I should have checked your profile. *blush*

Amitte

Apparently that’s the case in Ukrainian as well… either way, no worries! :D
