Late post since I got lazy with the last review so this whole post got delayed. :P Revamped the whole layout of the post since I've been thinking about it for a long while now and finally decided to do it. Using that sweet sweet tab. :3

This month I finished quite a lot of games, even though most are really short titles. Next month's gonna be largely the same since I picked a bunch of cheap short titles for play a game you won on sg event. x3

Also since I got Moonlighter from Epic store I've been playing it and having a blast! It's so fun omg. Perfect for me since I love these kinds of shop games. My only complaint is the limited backpack size cuz my hoarder side is complaining, but I understand why they did it.

A chunk of my time was dedicated to Minecraft Sky Factory 3 at the start of the month since I watched videos of an old Minecraft Youtuber that I used to watch. And that gave me the urge to go back and play more Minecraft~

This is a Monthly Theme game. I got the secret path DLC from their website, which is why I decided to try it out. Tried to squeeze this in yesterday but couldn't finish it in time. Still gonna put it in the July update tho since it's a Monthly Theme game and I haven't made my July post yet. Note that I haven't played any of their games before so I know nothing of the universe that this game is set in.

This is a VN~I'm getting into more and more VN stuff, which is real nice. Especially when the writing and characters are good. This game is set in a society where everyone is a clone of "Horatio", and that Horatio is their god and almighty leader. It's actually a really interesting concept and setting. And honestly, I think a society like that won't really go anywhere, as evident by the story itself, especially since Horatio himself is a narcissistic and proud person. The protagonist is a faulty clone in the sense that he didn't inherent any memory from the supposedly memory imprint. They are cloned to replace a bunch of cadets that went missing and their mission is to greet Horatio himself and get to go to the galaxy-wide research center to steal their technology or something. In the studying process protagonist found himself in all sorts of troubles. The writing is really nice, and I only noticed one typo throughout the whole game.

This game's endings basically are corresponding to each major character. My favorite character is Exrus. I'm a really straight forward person and have a strong dislike for people that's more cunning and guileful because I'm easily deceived. My mom always said I'm more of an animal person with a lot of primary instincts, so I guess it's sorta like I'm avoiding potential danger. So when I saw Exrus who is a military officer I just started liking him more and more. I'm also really glad he's my first chosen path cuz he's just so damn cute in that path! It's great to be able to fight alongside him and also get to make out with him. His embarrassed face is so adorable. :3 Next let's talk about Aeternus(yes I had to copy his name. It's one of the problems of this game with really hard to remember names. Not just this game. Some other VNs I've played also had this problem). He's my least favorite character cuz of the reason I mentioned up above. He's the highest authority of the station and is arrogant and narcissistic. I do not like him, and through out his path I'm just not trusting any of his bullshit, even though tbh, some of his dialogues of pretty likable, especially the ones that shows more of his emotions. I do have one problem with the secret ending of his path tho. <class = "spoiler">Like, I get that everyone's a clone and such, but from the characters I saw, the markings on their head and also their eye sockets colors are different. If that's so how does protagonist replace Aeternus if people will just identify him? If they're indeed just the same and the art is different for us reading to easily distinguish characters, then how the hell does everyone recognize other people? Or specifically in some instances of the story, how the hell does protagonist recognize the one that had a fight with him at the lab, and the one that he bumped his head with on the dance practice? It just doesn't make sense at all. </class>Now that's done, on to the two less memorable paths. First one is Darien's path. I actually really like his character until he put out all the revolution stuff. Before he's just this chill guy that trolls protag but also became friends with him. But yeah, I also get where he's coming from and why he would want to do it, however I really don't think he's smart in trying to negotiate with the raiders. So yeah, from the start I know his plans are gonna fail. Now the last path is Tergus, who's plan I also think will fail from the start since the raiders don't plan on fulfilling their side of the contract from the start. And his romance arc is also tagged on and a bit forced since they had no real prior interaction to warrant that kind of jump where as for Exrus you can dance with him at first.

I did still however get bored with the build up tho, so ofc I still used my phone on the side, which might be the reason why the playtime is slighty higher, but this game is pretty good. Not to mention it's free! Check it out if you like VNs.

This is a play a game you won on steamgifts game. This game is a walking sim. I must say I'm not all that familiar with walking sim. The only two I think I've played are Stanley Parable and Dear Esther. For this game, I kinda get how some people say walking sims are boring.

This game has a pretty alright setting. Nothing that spectacular but it's end of the world kinda situation and androids are trying to make mars inhabitable for humans or something. Main menu at first is pretty interesting since your a robot walking to a departure room and selecting chapters, but since you can't sprint like in the actual game it becomes pretty painful, especially since I missed a couple of achievements so I had to go back to some of the chapters. In the game you play as "DOG" the android. Pretty funny eh cuz the game is called "CAT" Interstellar. You can sprint in the game which is really nice for chapter 2 where there's a huge open space area. Environment changes from chapter to chapter are pretty alright, and the highlight of the game is the mine chapter where there's really cool visuals and interesting potential background story. It creeped me out a bit, which is a good thing. The visuals also reminded me of the caves in A Story About My Uncle although more creepy.

Now that all the goods are out of the way, let's talk not so good. The major part is voice acting. Stanley Parable and Dear Esther both have incredible voice acting and I think that's why it works. In this game, the voices of the androids just, doesn't sound good. They don't give off any emotion. They are suppose to be sentient beings who's personalities are supposedly made up of a real person's datas on earth. Not to mention that a dozen of them are voiced by the same guy(likely due to budget) who did not change his voice at all since I clearly recognizes him. How am I suppose to feel immersed? At least maybe you could of, idk, do some auto-tune or something to make it feel more robot-like to say that hey, maybe they can't really convey emotions that well. And imo that maybe unless the walking sim can fill every corner with interesting things or characters to interact with, a narrator is surely needed. The environment and dialogues are just not interesting enough to stop me from getting bored. The last point of mention is for the mine chapter. What a wasted opportunity. There could've been some interesting story to explore but nope, they just glossed over it. I guess it was to keep the ending open to interpretation but it was a disappointment for me nonetheless.

Although it seems that I have a lot of complaints for this game, I was mainly just bored. No real strong emotional dislike there. It's an alright game, pretty short and mechanically nothing's bad.

This is a monthly theme game. Saw it from Tsuper's review. This game is much like the Samantha game that I've played before. However since the game revolves around his life instead of a single thing, it's a bit more confusing imo, cuz things pass by so quickly that there's no real time to react to them or even think more deeply about them. Tho I still think it gives its points across pretty well and at the end I really feel great for the bear that he met someone that can understand him.

This is an android game. Stumbled upon it the other day. Generally it's quite fine. Utilizes its perspective changing feature quite while. I did get stuck a couple of times and had to consult Youtube videos tho, but other puzzles I solved myself made me feel quite good. Story basically doesn't matter. I did run into a bug that made me have to restart chapter 5 tho, which made me put off the game for a bit and only finished it today. Only the first season is out and chapter 7 is said to be out on August. Not sure if I'll check it out when it comes out or not. Mostly likely not but it's fun while it lasted.

This is a Monthly Theme game. I don't really have much to say about this game except that I found out I don't really like labyrinth games. I'm sure if I get lost longer in the maze I would probably get annoyed, but thankfully I didn't and it's a short game to finish. Also this game is made in RPG maker.

👍Positive:

Interesting story concept.

👎Negative:

Bad grammar. Bad sounds and musics. Story is all over the place and incomplete.

Full review

This is a Monthly Theme game. I went in not expecting anything from it and went out not getting anything from it. lol Mostly picked it for the short completion time and just to tick a game off my backlog.

What is most important thing in a VN? I think for me is grammar. Grammar is important in any sort of story cuz it allows you to get immersed in the story, but this game has very poor grammar. I struggle with comprehending half of the sentences and it mostly comes down to a bit of guessing work. The visuals are pixel retro style which I'm fine with and it actually pretty cool, but it doesn't help me with the story. The sound effects and musics are cheesy 8-bit feels that's just not fitting at all.

One thing I'll say tho is the story is both not bad and very bad. It has a bunch of very interesting ideas(especially at the cemetery) and builds characters decently, however it's all over the place and half of the time I just don't understand what is happening. This is also apparently the first act and there's more to the story, but I don't think it's gonna come out. I will say that if they flesh out the grammar and also add more to/change the story it could potentially be a good VN. I got intrigued by the stories at the cemetery(aside from the fact that MC suddenly started flirting with the statue girl. I was very confused. 0-0) and it made me imagine a bizarre age where Ragonald(or whatever his name is) ruled the place.

Idk why I played this. Just bored I guess, and also it's in my very short game list, and it also is an achievement spam game. This is a platformer game where you collect the key and get out of the golden gate with red damage areas and monsters in your way. You have 2 ammo types to fire and they are limited. The platforming is, ok I guess. The only annoying thing is that you can only press w to jump and can't use space. However the red damage area's detection is very finicky and a lot of the times I felt like I wasn't even touching it yet I got damaged. Also the final boss level is literally unbeatable since you have limited ammo. Also also the background music is stolen. It's a bad game. Idk why I played this. lol

This is a Monthly Theme game. At this point I'm just digging through my "very short" game list to try and tick some of them off my backlog. This one I understand the nostalgic feel and it's suppose to be a replica of that, but I gotta say it did not age well.

Graphic I can just look past cuz it's understandable. Sound I kinda can't really cuz it hurts my ears, but I can get why it's bad. Gameplay however is pretty bad. It does give very much an arcade feel, but enemies just come too fast that I could not react in time. Your movement is also too quickly and out of control that I felt slightly nauseous(in the city level since the turns are too sharp). Also there's no way to avoid damage since either the enemy will be too far away to shoot or they'll just pop in and shoot you. I gave it 2 tries and both died on the city level. I did go further the second try however still didn't progress to the next. So I called it beaten.

Really happy with how the formatting of the post turned out. :D See you next month~:3

Aaaa why does the reviews for below average tabs show up at the first tab?! D: I’m gonna fix this tomorrow since it’s wayyyy past my bedtime cuz I was making this post. T^T

EDIT: Nvm I fixed it. I accidentally copied the tab code from the first tab so it’s active from the start thus the problem occurs. Live lesson on why you shouldn’t copy and paste codes. OAQ Even though I’ll probably still do it in the future anyways……
