Beaten: Unavowed

I know I’m on safe ground with Wadjet Eye productions, and this one adds a new RPG element into the mix. If you liked the Blackwell series, this one will likely go down well. I wasn’t convinced by all of the characterisation choices, but the game has some truly excellent character-building overall. I’ve completed two of the endings so far, and expect to be returning to the game, but calling this one beaten for now to keep things rolling.

Beaten: That Dragon, Cancer

I was interested in playing this as an interactive documentary, and though clunky it was a creative way of exploring a very painful subject using visual spaces and metaphor. The game was more centred around religious faith than I expected, which is interesting. There were some things I was uncomfortable with, such as the inclusion of young kids who may not yet understand what they’re contributing to. I guess at the end of the day that is a judgement that only those involved can make.

Beaten: Space Pilgrim Episode IV: Sol

The final instalment of this well made little scifi series. Good things come in small packages, in the case of Space Pilgrim. It reminds me very much of the old Unlimited Adventures mods and dungeons made by enthusiasts, often with great dedication and detail.

The Space Pilgrim games are really neat little games :) I enjoyed Episode IV the most of all episodes. Do you also own the Space Pilgrim Academy games? I had a lot of fun with those as well.

Haven’t picked those up yet, but the other games definitely look worthwhile.
