August report

I been too lazy to write a post till now yet again. I have beaten quite a few games in August, just didnt bother to 100% them … yet.

Completed SG wins

Hero of the Kingdom
Playtime: 5.9 hours
Achievements: 38 of 38 (100%)
Review: It is not terrible, just really really easy, causal and boring. Unless you want some mindless fetch quest clicking for a few hours I would skip it. I would rather play a full on point and click or hidden object game instead. Linux version of the game works without any issues.

Other completed games

100$
Playtime: 1.4 hours
Achievements: 100 of 100 (100%)
Review: Is it an absolutely terrible sliding puzzle game, especially for 0,99€? No, surprisingly not. Is it good enough for a positive review? Also no. The UI and graphics (except for the drawn one, those are actually quite nice) are way too bad for that and a couple of levels are pretty frustrating as they require quite precise timings. Works without any issue on Linux with Proton (9.0-4).
YEAH! YOU WANT "THOSE GAMES," RIGHT? SO HERE YOU GO! NOW, LET'S SEE YOU CLEAR THEM!

Review: Interesting concept, but badly executed. You can find my full review on Steam here.
Democracy 3
Playtime: 17.7 hours
Achievements: 42 of 42 (100%)
Review: Cool country management game, but overpriced. You can find my full review on Steam here.

Congratulations!

I also played my first Hero of the Kingdom game recently. And while I do agree completely with your assessment, I did find it ok as a relaxing, brainless, light passtime for low-energy late evenings. For sure, that kind of game won’t be my first go-to choice, but if I might keep one handy for the occasional fitting occasion.

As for Democracy 3, I always found it super interesting! But it’s really useful to know the issue about low content for the price. Will keep that in mind to help me decide whether to grab it or not.

Thank you!

Yea for low-energy days or for when you are watching something on the side it works, but wouldn’t reach for it otherwise.

I should add that there is a workshop so there is more content there you can add (not sure how high quality tho as I haven’t used it myself). If you can find it for ~5€ I would give it a go as it is definitely a cool concept, but personally I wouldn’t pay more than that for it. Also there is a 4th one out there and I heard from one person that it is worse, but haven’t looked into it myself other than seeing the price and backing off lmao.

That’s super useful info. Will take good note, to go for the 3rd rather than 4th, and to aim for a 5€ price-tag. Cheers! 🍻
