You’ve picked up some nice games! Which one are you looking forward to the most? Any plans for which is going to be your first game of 2024?
Yeah I tried to get all the threads dine month by month (since I joined later this year) so the december buys will be up asap, along with a little summary of everything for the year :)
I think my first game will be Tales from the borderland, since its also on my PoP list, but there are so many I really want to play very soon :)
Tales from the Borderlands is, I want to say, great if you’re around the same age as I am (and that’s not meant to be a diss of the game… but it could be a self-own, if you’d like? haha). I haven’t played any of the Borderlands games (and I don’t know if I ever will), so I was learning about the world as I went along. But to get to the age thing, I can see why people could have thought it was too ham back when it first came out, but having played it for the first time this year, I found it amusing precisely because the humor was so time-specific and memetic.
I can’t remember if it’s you I talked to about Coloring Pixels… but welcome to the club. B)
Okay now I really need to know what age group you mean :D I am really interested in the game because I liked TWD and The Wolf Among Us, so I have great hopes for this one too :)
Regarding coloring pixels, yeah thanks… hehe.. started with a couple, wanted dlc for Christmas achievements and then it Went overboard when my mom saw me playing it, so she bought the bundle for me (or rather sent me the money with strict instructions to buy them)
I was born in the early 00s, which is why I think I’m biased towards the kind of humor that was popular around 2010-2014, which would have been when I first started really being online. (I just realized this might not entirely be about the exact kind of comedy in Tales from the Borderlands, so I apologize. It’s been almost a year since I played it…) Even if I can tell that some people had an edgy sense of humor, which wouldn’t fly nowadays, I can’t help but enjoy it. (Probably helps that I’m not part of any minorities that would have been the butt of a joke back then.) Nowadays, “edgy” humor is either ironic stuff that’s distorted beyond comprehension (and therefore, completely unfunny or hysterical at first glance, thanks to the element of surprise) or absolutely vile hypotheticals that come out of nowhere (here’s to hoping you get what I mean, so I don’t have to try to come up with an example…)
I think you’re gonna like it! The only Telltale games I didn’t like were TWD 3 and 4, and still, I’m only really “meh” about them… at the end of the day, I prefer to handwave them away, like “that’s just what happens when a franchise gets bigger”, y’know? haha
That’s some parent goals right there! Especially if it wasn’t meant to be her Christmas gift for you… or was it?

yeah I was born in the 80’s… :) I am still sure it will be great and I will love the comedy, I know what you mean about humor now, it has changed a lot (also what you can and can’t say the same way anymore) I am still very much also into the humor of Sam & Max… I have not played the last TWD or GOT yet though.
Nope weren’t meant to be a christmas gift, I got it in november so that will be a little after her birthday.. maybe she was happy for our mother/daughter trip in the city :D
Either way, still excited about the game, heard the 2nd Borderlands are not that funny, and I really hope The Wolf 2 will arrive this year :)
Speaking of older games with a questionable sense of humor, I like Leisure Suit Larry! I’ve yet to play through the franchise for myself, but I’ve seen gameplay of a few of the games and somehow found myself adoring the raunchiness of it all.

I love the LSL games, I’ve played the first 6 almost when they came out (so no way I could find a walkthrough, and I also did replay them when they came for steam) I still have the two Wet Dreams to play, the humor is wonderful in them :D
Yeah it started with her seeing me playing the game when I visited her, then she wanted to try and she liked her picture, and then said “with a game as fun and relaxing as this, you need the rest” so I got the rest. And don’t worry, I did get her lots of stuff and a very nice dinner out, we are extremely close :)
The Wolf 2 will hopefully be great, I remember playing it when it first came out, waiting for each chapter….
So far, I’ve only played Magna Cum Laude, I don’t mind that it’s one of the black sheep of the franchise. Sadly, I expect to have lost my save somewhere along the way, so that’s gonna be another 10 hours on playing the game all over again… what’s good is good, but also, time is valuable. ^^;; I also got Box Office Bust for the PS3 at some point, supposedly the absolute worst. You don’t even know how ready I am to experience it first-hand! haha
That’s really nice to hear! I’m fond of my mom too and now that you said that, I’m looking forward to a time when I’ll be able to treat her to a nice gift again. :)
No wayyy…! I only played it in 2021 and I’m already tired of waiting… then again, some new franchise additions kick ass exactly because they came out so late…
My fav LSL game would be the 7th (love for sail) but the 6th is also sooo great. The first time I tried it, my english werent that good, do I did not know what I did half of the time :)
Oh yes both my parents means a lot to me, I am an only child, so when they decided to move 1 year ago (they wanted to get a 1 flat apartment) they moved to a city 15min from me :D sadly my mom got sick before Christmas (COVID-19, very bad case of flu and bad lungs) so she had to stay at the hospital for some days. Shes Home again now… (or sorry for the life-story)

Funnily enough, I think I actually watched Love for Sail first, and with a Polish dub, too (can’t remember if the previous games were dubbed as well, though I’m not necessarily interested in playing in Polish rather than English).
Life stories are fine with me, I myself tend to overshare. My mom actually moved out from our apartment in November, and now it’s just mine ^^ Will take some time for it to become truly mine, but I gotta remember to take it one day at a time.
Oh yeah, live in Scandinavia, they never subbed anything really..
Oh yeah its something to get used to, when you are used to something else, I think it’s the same if you move in with someone, it also takes time :)
That’s a bummer. Though I guess Poland doesn’t get many games localized, either.
Yeah, it’s pretty weird. It’s always technically been my apartment, but now it just feels off to be living around so much of someone else’s stuff… there’s also loads and loads of cleaning to be done. Trying to do at least one thing daily, but either way, hard not to feel like I’m going crazy…
I get that, as long as you have the goal with 1 thing a day, better slower than never :) And be sure to take breaks so you dont go crazy with it :)
