2023 is done :D Welcome 2024! I wish you all a Happy New Year! I hope it will be a good one for all of you.
2023
In 2023 I was able to make a good progress on my games, but overall I added more games than I played because I went through my key list and finally activated all games I wanted. So hopefully in 2024 I will be able to reduce the backlog :)
But it still was a successful year as I was able to remove 346 games from my backlog.

2024
For 2024 I set up again some goals I want to reach within the year:
Beat all games on the Yearly Challenge 2024 list
After I successfully finished the Yearly Challenge with Puzzles last year, for this year I selected 52 Visual Novel games I want to beat till the end of the year. This will be a little more difficult than the last years because I’m not really a fan of VN. But that’s the spirit of a challenge, isn’t it? ;)
Beat all games on the Presents list
I already did this last year with a list of 23 games I was gifted the last years. But in 2023 I again got so many great games as gifts, that it filled up a new list with 24 great games. Thanks a lot to everyone who gave me one or more of those games! I’m really looking forward to play them! =)
66% of games added in 2015 and 2016 beaten/completed (Won’t play is excluded)
I registered at Steam in 2015 just to play some games with my colleagues. I only got myself some games from Steam sales and otherwise didn’t use it very much. After I discovered bundle sites and Steamgifts in 2017 the amount of added games skyrocketed and continued even more in 2018. A huge part of my backlog is from this time. With PAGYWOSG, BLAEO and lately also PoP I started to finally work on my backlog and also put more thought in what I should buy or which giveaways I should join.
But the huge pile of shame from the years 2017/2018 often dominates my monthly play lists. That’s why I decided to add a challenge to finally work on the oldest additions to my Steam account. As some of the games are clicker games or otherwise endless games, I decided to go for 66% finished games, which means 9 games from 2015 and 19 games from 2016.

As last year I want to reduce my win backlog by playing wins and more importantly reduce the amount of wins by only joining what I really want to have.

As stated above due to activating a lot of games in 2023 I wasn’t able to reduce my backlog. I really want to do this in 2024 so I’ll try to beat a lot of games. While I will try to also get some of my longer games done, with over 1500 unplayed games with HLTB times below 8h this should be doable. :)

If I can give a suggestion, Return to Shironagasu Island should be one of the first games to play!! I’m excited to hear what you think about ENIGMA:, I need to work through my VN’s as well. hides

Thanks for the suggestion I will keep it in mind. But for January I have chosen the wins with no achievements as they fit the PAGYWOSG theme :)
