so, i haven’t had much time to play games since i’ve been taking care of my mom post-surgery, but i managed to get some time in.
i finally(!) went and finished up dark souls iii, and i plan to do the same with the previous two games. though when i recently tried to play dark souls: prepare to die edition i didn’t have much luck getting it to run without crashing and i’m thinking i might have to find a cheap copy of the remaster.
i really liked the second dread x collection and will hopefully play the first and third collections this month. i was too impatient to wait for part one to download so i went straight for part two.
the bulk of my playtime this month was dedicated to ghostwire: tokyo which was pretty much what i expected it to be. it also received a huge content update the day it landed on game pass which included a roguelike game mode and some additions to the story. it was an entertaining game, but had a repetitiveness reminiscent of certain ubisoft titles which really fluffed up my playtime. overall, i’d give it something like a 7.8/10.
currently playing citizen sleeper on game pass, and will probably play redfall with a buddy shortly after release.

Congratulations on all of your assassinations! Especially for 100%’ing Darksouls, WOW! Post-surgery is rough, I hope your mom is doing well!
Also.. 61 hours in Diesega and only 5/51… Is the game just that long or are the achievements super weird and out-of-the-way…

thanks! she’s definitely improving bit by bit, and it’s a good excuse to spend together which is nice.

i’m sure a chunk of that is idle time as i sometimes minimize games and do stuff around the house, but some are also late-game and out of the way. i barely got into the main story levels and focused on dlc levels which don’t really contribute to achievements. then i was just grinding for a while which didn’t help either lol. the hltb time for completion ranges from 185-341 hours sooo yeah.. it’s a bit of a slog.

Cheese on a cracker, GL! I was looking at some of the achievements too -

Pass a bill by Paying Up 100,000,000 HL. “I hope it’s worth it!”
Eat curry for 100 days straight. “They’re demons so they’re fine. Please don’t try this at home.” (I would do this irl if I had enough varieties)
Deal over 10,000,000,000 damage. “Blow ‘em away!”
Achieve a population of 100 in the pocket Netherworld. “The pocket Netherworld has gotten pretty crowded.”
Level up to Lv 9999. “It’s just a destination, not the final stop!”

Does this game have a town building aspect?

haha, yeah, it’s a bit daunting actually. with this series, there’s no absolute ending, you can just keep playing and leveling up. i guess they let that get to their heads when they designed the achievements. the population one sounds fancier than it actually is. whenever you add a new character to your roster, you can find them walking around the pocket netherworld which is just the hub area. shops. npcs, level select - that kind of thing - but there’s no building aspect to it unfortunately.
