Regency Solitaire

Regency Solitaire ⭐️⭐⭐⭐☆

Card game

Nice card game I got from friend, it's about girl which wants to win heart of nice guy, but she's poor. Such tragedy. I beat it month ago, wanted to have 100% achievements. But I resign from earning 35-card combo, so I'm putting it on beaten list this month.

Chroma Squad

Chroma Squad ⭐️⭐⭐⭐☆

Won on SteamGifts Strategy
14 hours playtime, 27 of 43 achievements (63%)

This one is a little "cheated", as I didn't manage to get past last fight. Didn't have much problem though rest of the game, but last boss is ridiculous. After like 5 attempts I resign from further trying, as I was getting really annoyed. And it'd take out my whole joy of playing earlier. So not worth it. Like I was really enjoying Dead Space 2 to the point of last level. Now I only remember this monster at the end. Those memories aren't pleasant :x

It's like Power Rangers simulator. Makes you think that all those minions were really necessary on-screen, as they're needed to gather power for main characters, to change into their space-form ;D

Broken Age

Broken Age ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

Won on SteamGifts Adventure
11 hours playtime, 39 of 45 achievements (87%)

Nice adventure game, tho difficulty level is not consistent. First part is nice, 2nd has some not-so well done puzzles. I had to used guide in few places to see that I didn't write down certain symbol order, and have to reload earlier save to be able to progress further. So not best game mechanic IMO

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut ⭐️⭐⭐☆☆

Hack & Slash RPG-like
44 hours playtime, 31 of 50 achievements (62%)

I've beat Van Helsing 1 some time ago and I really liked it. It had nice humor (esp Catarina), killing enemies was enjoyable. So I wanted to play in next parts, and after I got 2nd part they introduced Final Cut. So I wanted to wait a little to get it, but got proposition from Fnord to beat it together in co-op. So I thought "why not?"

And god, it was so bad experience. Game is way too long and grindy, nice side quests are not present, Catarina wasn't funny anymore. They put easter eggs every 20 - 25 min, which makes them kinda pointless "Oh Godzilla reference. Oh Hansel and Gretel. Oh Warhammer. Oh "I don't care about it anymore" reference". On top of that combining games didn't turn out nicely. Game do have single skill tree, but after like 70 lvl you don't have stuff to invest your points into. As you can have only 3 auras and few abilities at a time.

Enemies weren't changed in-game, so they just put up additional difficulty levels (+ dmg and + health for them). And even when we ended up with 95 lvl characters, we had to play on difficulty for 50th lvl, as higher than that we were OHK most of the time. Plus items were terribly underpowered, I was still running with 85+ lvl items, as I couldn't find anything better.

As Fnord told already - midway 2nd game we started to experience some bad lag, so we had to shift hosting from my PC to his. Plus it stopped to be enjoyable not long after that, so I've beat it to mark it as "complete", rather than have fun along way.

And few games I'm playing recently

- Mad Max (17 of 49 ach) - I bought it when it had price bug, and started playing recently. It's nice and I try to discover as much stuff I can, but I know that right after I will fully upgrade my car I will rush to the end of the game. As side quests are really grindy and tedious.

- Paladins (18 of 33 ach) - after I hit 12th level I was thrown into match making sack with way OP players than me. So I got annoyed and I'm not playing as much, as I did at the beginning. Tho it's still nice to play 2-3 matches from time to time

- Road to Gehenna DLC from Talos Principle (2 of 4 ach) - beat few levels and it's really interesting. Puzzles are harder than in base game and story is good so far. It still amazes me how creators of Serious Sam were able to develop such masterpiece.

- Skulls of the Shogun (0 of 27 ach) - strategy game, which will have to wait till I beat other games. As it didn't make me want to go back to it atm after beating first 3 levels.

- Star Wars: knight of the Old Republic (31 of 57 ach) - God, I really want to have 100% of achievements in this game, but can't force myself to continue my playthrough as dark jedi woman. It's too hard, I'm nice dragon and killing random NPCs makes me sad ; _ ;

Haha, I can totally understand that mindset with being unable to play in a bad way. ^^ That’s the reason why I normally skip games which have achievements for doing so. To bad it is one of your favourite games. Don’t you have someone ruthless in your neighbourhood who can do this for you?

Mskotor

Well it’d be cheating D :

I did beat 1st game some time ago as dark side, but I gave up on very ending and rehabilitate myself xD So maybe it wont’ be that bad. Still, not in the mood to be mean to my friends.

It’s thanks to reviews like this one of Chroma Squad I’ve read in blaeo I got interested in the game. (Plus, it’s always nice to know more about of games I’ve own and I’m yet to play - Broken Age).

Some good hours this month. Keep it up ;)
