I've been enjoying Inscryption a lot. But disappointingly, enjoyment has been sliding down as game acts progress: 1st was the best, then 2nd, and 3rd (which I am on now) is feeling like a bit of a slog. Still ok, but kind of looking forward to being done with it.

I've had a blast starting with Injustice 2. Was a refreshing change of pace: I suddenly realized it's been decades since I really last played a fighting game. And man, have they become more complex! But I'm having fun rediscovering this evolved genre, and I'm enjoying its narrative aspects more than I had expected. I don't know if I will be motivated to dig very deep into this genre, but I'm enjoying the ride for now.

Tried and discarded (1)

Too many games, too little time. So whenever I try a game I can't be bothered to keep up with, I scratch it off mercilessly. It's a win. But the rule is that I have to give it an honest try first.

After months with an eye on this win, I gave it a try, and it started off very weakly, so I had strong doubts of following through. But then the story, and the more brainy side of the puzzle-play ended up hooking me enough to keep going, despite the "stealth horror" aspect, which never felt dangerous, easily dealt with, and was rather just some really annoying and constant mild harassment which made the actually interesting gameplay (the exploration and puzzles) slower to try stuff on and solve. But then, honoring this series bad reputation, came the bug. Just one, but a big one, on level 3/5. I spent a very boring and frustrating hour, spinning wheels with most of it solved except for the last beat. Until I looked up a walkthrough, and eventually found out that I had done everything right, but my game was simply bugged stuck, and I would have to restart a whole new playthrough again to have a chance of fixing it. No thanks. Uninstall forever.

I remember Inscryption… I watched a streamer play it. They beat Skullstorm! it was kinda insane…

too many bears.

Thank you! I haven’t even encountered Skullstorm yet. But I guess it’s in something in Kaycee’s mod (which I know little about, mainly from seeing achievements, but I’m starting to guess, is post-endgame stuff). I’ve been playing it just now, and feel that I’m getting fairly close to the end of act 3. Finally “broke” the game in act 3, which made it all much faster to go through… it’s funny how it’s kind of designed around the player potentially build game-breaking combos.
