Update 124: Oktober 2023

And the year is nearly over, where has it gone 👀

Half-Life 2

Hidden Cats in London

7/10
1.2 hours
44 of 44 achievements

A cute little HOG, Especially like the fact that the scene got colored the second you found all cats. Made it a lot easier to locate those missing buggers.

Half-Life 2

Alice in Wonderland - a jigsaw puzzle tale

6.5/10
5.7 hours
24 of 61 achievements

A cute little puzzle game with 12 puzzles you can do in 5 different difficulties. What I find nice about the game is the possibility to sort out the edge tiles and then the rest by upper left, upper right, lower left, lower right quarter. This makes finding the correct pieces a lot easier. Which more puzzle games had this especially for the bigger ones.

Half-Life 2

Five Dates

6/10
6.1 hours
15 of 15 achievements

It's a little interactive fiction game about online dating during the pandemic. There are 5 different women to date. All are quiet different. Found it entertaining enough.

Half-Life 2

Toy Tinker Simulator

5/10
61.5 hours
24 of 24 achievements

It could have been a great game. Instead it is very RNG and repetitive. And there are too many buttons to click, e.g. why do I have to click on every toy again after I repaired it to put it on the table, then click on it again to get the camera, click on it again to take a picture and again to get into the laptop to sell it and again to sell it. And no keyboard shortcuts available, everything has to be clicked with the mouse. And don't get me started on getting those toys for the achievements. It took me 20+ hours to get the last 10 needed toys since they simply would not appear or only one would come up every hour or so. And then you get that toy you want and the second you put it on the table it warps into a different toy…Picked out a ship to repair and once I put it on the table it turned into a dollhouse -_-

Half-Life 2

Color Splash: Birds

6/10
1.8 hours
100 of 100 achievements

Cute little puzzle games. I love these colorful ones.

Half-Life 2

Poly Puzzle: Dinosaurs

6/10
5.8 hours
100 of 100 achievements

Liked it, few things I would have enjoyed a bit more:

1) there is no image except where you pick the level and it is tiny. So it is really hard to complete some of them if you do not even know what you are puzzeling
2) you only have a limited amount of moves and if they run out you have to start all over again. This combined with not really knowing what you are puzzeling makes this a lot harder than it has to be.

Half-Life 2

Worms Pinball

5/10
0.7 hours
no achievements

Average pinball game. One table. Physics are okay, but nothing special about it.

Half-Life 2

Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller

7/10
23.9 hours
59 of 59 achievements

The game itself is good, if you can overlook all the problems getting it started. And all of the graphical glitches (like exorcist spinning head Erica).

I really liked the story and how it unfolds. Not gonna talk about that though to not spoil it for anyone.

Half-Life 2

Smoke and Sacrifice

6/10
16.0 hours
24 of 32 achievements

I don't know what to think about this game. Parts were enjoyable other parts not so much, like the combat for example. It is very stiff and a lot of the enemies are very OP in the beginning. Also don't like the save system. There are a lot of points to save at, but you have to reach them first and remember to save. Did try to farm stuff for crafting many times and got killed before I could save -_-

Here are the games I'm currently working on. Reviews will follow once I'm done with the games:
I've won 4 games and 1 DLC and got 2 DLC's gifted (thank you Moony) and I've beaten 9 games, so that makes a total of -5 for the month of October. My backlog gets a tiny bit of relieve again. I'm at +23 for this year now *hides quickly from my backlog*.

    0 hours playtime

Oh dear god, Toy Tinker Simulator is that long?! I thought it’d be something nice to just pop into and out of, but now I’m not so sure…

samwise84

It highly depends on how much the RNG gods favor you or not (seen people with 40h completion). And if you are as crazy as I am and want to complete it. It wasn’t a bad game, just got really repetitive towards the end. If you have to repair the same toys over and over again in hopes to get that one missing ship or car that you are still waiting for.

Amitte

Ahh, I see. Well, I played both demos, so I might as well play the real thing! I’ll just pretend I fear no RNG :’D

samwise84

Crossing my fingers for you then :D
