My own ABC Challenge

And it’s not related to beating Steam games.

In 2012 I bought all the Rock Band games and then I started buying a lot of songs (DLCs) for it.
I ended up with 924 songs for Rock Band 3 and even though I spent more than 700h playing it, I never managed to play all the songs.
So in 2016 I decided to challenge myself and sing all the songs at least once.
It took me two years to sing all the 917 songs. The remaining 7 songs didn’t have Vocal parts so I played them using a guitar or keyboard. This year I played 269 songs!

But that doesn’t mean I’ll drop Rock Band 3. I still need to beat the Career Mode.
Once I beat it I’ll move to Rock Band 4 (yeah, I bought it too).

See ya on the next update!

That’s definitely its own kind of impressive! Have you noticed an improvement in your overall singing talent as a result? Or were you already rather decent to begin with and so the impact would be minimal? Favorite song to sing? (Worst song to sing?…)

I’m a terrible singer. I sang all the songs on the Easy difficulty =P
Hard to list only one favorite, but one of them is Piano Man from Billy Joel.
There were a few crappy songs, but I don’t remember their name.

Ha, great to hear you can still get through it all even if you’re not David Bowie!
Nice choice for a favorite, too – definitely a song that rolls of the tongue in a very pleasant way. :)

On Easy you can just make noise and still get 100% =P
I tried to play the song on Expert difficulty / Keyboard Pro but no success. Better stay on vocals =)

Blue Ϟ Lightning

damn…

thats all I can say

That is impressive and some serious dedication. Good on ya for that next level commitment. Hope it was enjoyable all the way through ^_^

iskibiribiri

It was. I played like 5 songs at a time to make it enjoyable.
Otherwise it’d become a chore and I’d quit.

I admire your dedication to go through the whole song library! Must be a fun way to learn more about loads of different music.

It’s weird to look back to all the “plastic band boom”, it seems so long ago now since majority of gamers lost interest. I always have fond memories about GH3, I took an advantage of a gamestop trade promotion to pre-order it on PS2. Plaing the game was so weird, yet so fun at the same time. There are a few less known songs that immediately take me back to that game, examples like Impulse by An Endless Sporadic.

First time I heard about Guitar Hero I found it stupid.
Until a friend of mine gave me a copy of Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s and I fell in love with it.
I took a break from PC gaming for like 5 years and only played this kind of games.
I discovered a lot of nice songs that I never heard before. It really changed my taste in music.
