Final Fantasy 10 completed! EIGHT LONG YEARS IN THE MAKING. 2nd try Jecht’s Final Aeon (2 deaths, both to RNG petrify)
I will not be doing post-game side-quests for a long, long while.
Current Sidequests left to be done: Monster Arena 100% (capture 10 of EACH & EVERY enemy), Chocobo stuff, Butterfly catching, Lightning Dodger & a lot more for Celestial Weapons.
Wait, completed? You have beaten all dark aeons and the Richter? Because that was pretty much the only fight I did not manage back then on the PS2. Only tried 5-10 times but his recovery rate was a big to high for my taste.
Dark Aeons exist in the NTSC-U PS2 version? I know they exist in EVERY other version of the game.
Ah, than that may be it. I’m from Europe so I played the PAL version and those had definetely the Dark Aeons. I know because I missed one of the components for Tidus best weapon at the place where Dark Bahamut spawned later. So it took a while until I could finally get it.
Then again, maybe they do exist. That was only my first playthrough.
That should be easy to verify. I think there is no special trigger for them appearing other than some point in the story. Hm, maybe there is but isn’t overly hard. Have you gathered all Aeons there are in the game? I think the most hidden are Anima (you need to solve all temple puzzles to find him?) and the fairies (can’t remember their trigger).
But you should check because that is where the actual challenge starts ^^
Dark Valefor should appear after entering the Calm Lands for the first time. (Not available in the NA release)
Anima is in Remien Temple, pre-requisite is to use all the destruction spheres~ (Available and obtained!)
Other than the Magus Sisters, I have gotten all the Aeons.
You also don’t get the Advanced Sphere grid in the North American version!
Well, then it seems you are “nearly” complete ^^ It is a bit of a shame that they add such stuff only at later releases but they are only for the challenge anyway since they add absolutely no story elements. I think the never bothered explaining where those dark aeons come from O.o
As for the “advanced” Sphere grid …. It is only smaller nothing more. I’ve chosen it and it backfired since I can’t maximize my stats like someone playing on beginner which is kinda stupid.
