I’ve played two really short free games advised by the BLAEO community this week.
Moirai : A 5 minute first person experiment with a twist. Nothing spectacular, but still worth it. You should give it a try, it’s quick and witty.
Mandagon : A bit longer. I liked the art style and drony soundtrack. This is supposed to be about tibetan buddhism, but I don”t feel the game is very deep. Gameplay is also minimal : get puzzle pieces, bring them to the altar. Overall, it’s a pretty arty game, but I’m not sure I’d advise it to everyone. It’s free, give it a try and see if the atmosphere means something to you, otherwise, “let it go”.

The Witness : As I said in an earlier post, best puzzle game ever. I’m at the end section now, but I’m kinda puzzle-overdosing right now. Also, I have motion sickness, so a few parts where you have to move a lot to find the right angle to do the puzzle did make me sick a bit.
I’ll leave the game for a while, because the fun is wearing off, and I don’t want to rush the ending with a walkthrough just to get it done. We’ll see each other again soon, Island of the witnesses !

Oh, didn’t know that The Witness is that long! :o (not saying it is a bad thing though)
I love puzzles and I wanted to play this one so badly… I just finished some fast placed games (Doom, Middle Earth, DMC) and now I’m thinking about start a puzzle marathon, so this one will be there too a loved friend just gifted it to me ♥

Oh no, does The Witness cause motion sickness? I suffer really bad with motion sickness in most walking simulator/ first person games so I think I’ll be avoiding this one if that’s the case. I can only imagine how you’re feeling but a break sounds like a good idea.
No motion sickness on most parts of the game. I only felt that for a few indoor puzzles, but if you don’t play for too long, it’s ok ! (in my case at least). Txs for the suggestions !
Im playing the witness right now and it’s an amazing game! I still have a lot to go, but I’m hooked. I still prefer The talos principle either way :P
Maybe that wouldn’t be too bad but I ended up removing it from my wishlist anyways because the puzzles looked really hard for me.
I’m not very good at puzzles games either, but still loved this one. Well, every puzzle game has to bit a bit tricky (that’s the point of puzzles ! ;) ) But it’s really not the worst I played. And actually, the island environment makes you want to solve the puzzles because it unlocks new areas, activates mecanisms, etc… So well, if you don”t like puzzle games in general, well, that’s the only one you should give a try to if you win it or find it at low price. if you do like the style, it’s a must play !
