March Final Report

40K Achievements / 700 Perfect / 84% Avg. - March 3, 2018

I'm really not sure how Katy and Bob Way Back Home (diner dash clone) has completely taken over my rarest achievement showcase. For #700, I finally killed enough spiders for 500k kills and 100% in The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing. It is now my rarest achievement on Astats.

I also finished a full co-op (and my first) playthrough of The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut! I've been trying to do this for so long! This game is going to get done!

Other than that, the best games of the month were definitely Pipe Push Paradise and West of Loathing. Pipe Push Paradise is a 3d Sokoban-ish/Stephen's Sausage Roll-like game. West of Loathing is a humorous stick figure RPG, which I actually bought at near-full-price, for Kingdom of Loathing nostalgia. I also got the new achievements for Gone Home (90s nostagia walking simulator).

For the 'Lucky Number Three' theme this month, I played Samorost 3 and Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn. Samorost 3 (point and click) was charming, as always. Queen's Quest 3 (HOG) again had no relation to the prior games in the series, or much of queens.

A few days ago, I lost 15 100%s (1/1 -> 1/5000) when the Trivia Vault 'games' became achievement spam. :( I resisted as long as I could, but in April, I'm going to give in to the Spam. It was nice to have a 'high quality' gaming month for March, at least.

Over the course of March...

I bought 89 games in 7 bundles. I also bought 2 games directly from Steam.

I redeemed 36 games to my account.
... 2 were directly purchased from steam (1 100%; 1 abandoned)
... 10 were from a new bundle. (8 100%; 1 in progress; 1 unplayed)
... 4 were from the hidden backlog. (4 100%)
... 4 were SteamGifts wins! (2 100%; 1 in progress; 1 unplayed)
... 3 were from other giveaways. (3 unplayed)
... 7 were Free To Play games. (7 100%)
... 6 were from trades. (4 100%; 2 unplayed)

Of these 36 new games, in total, I have 26 completed, 1 beaten, 1 in progress, 7 unplayed, and 1 abandoned.

I played 60 games in total.
... 42 games 100%
... 2 games abandoned
... 2 games story complete.
... 14 games started or continued.

My current stats are:
...1201 Games + 175 DLC owned (+27, +1)
...209/1432 (14.6%) Games not played according to completionist.me (+3, -0.2%)
...40,434 Achievements (+1452)
...718 Perfect Games (+25)
...83% Avg. Game Completion (+0%)

42 games cleared? That’s amazing! You did a ton of work this March, congratulations! Which one was your favorite and why?

Errise

Of the 100%s, West of Loathing, because I used to love the browser-based Kingdom of Loathing and it’s the same style/humor in a slightly different setting/engine. I did most of the sidequests on my first playthrough, and got kinda invested in my relationship with my pardner (In my head, they were in a relationship.) such that it prevented me from making a certain choice later on. ;)

tsupertsundere

I love it when games bring out that feeling! It’s so good when you get attached to characters like that.

tsupertsundere

My apologies, I double posted! Just for fun: which one was your least favorite 100% and why?

Errise

So many games are totally unremarkable and/or bad. I guess Deadly Sky, because it required a bit of skill and I am really really bad at shoot-em-ups (like, I run straight into bullets when there are only two or three on the screen).

Formidolosus

Wow you’re really killing it here I see. 700 completions and an 84% clear rate. Good job.

Lucky Thirteen

700 perfect games O.o What are you?! :D

Errise

An achievement hunter :P

Lucky Thirteen

A very succesfull one, apparently! Congrats heheh :)

Vito

Wow, that’s a really huge number of completed games. I don’t even own that many games :D Congratulations!

JaffaCaffa

Wow you had a successful month. Very impressive, congrats!! Hope you enjoyed Van Helsing despite the grind. :)

p.s. Is Katy and Bob Way Back Home worth playing if you enjoy the Diner Dash games?

Errise

If you like Diner Dash/time management games, sure. It’s nothing special, but it works and it isn’t trivial. I played on the harder difficulty and had to replay some levels to get expert scores. Also, it will definitely be bundled again sometime. ;)

JaffaCaffa

Awesome thanks for letting me know!

PeteOzzy

That’s some amazing progress, congrats on really knocking it out of the park!

I’ve been dying to get round to West of Loathing but I’m trying to finish off the backlog before I let myself begin some newer ones. Great to hear that it’s a good game though :D
