Skyrim Complete!

Skyrim is a really expansive game that I suppose I’ve been missing out on for 7 years, which is fine by me, no need to rush things. When I went into the game, I really did not like it for a good while, but it grew on me. I’d have to say the main quest line just put me off for a while, or rubbed me the wrong way, considering I cleared 50 dungeons, 50 miscellaneous quests and got Married before completing the third main quest achievement…
But all in all I had a good time, I was impressed by just how massive the game was, and how much there really was to do! While playing, I encountered a lot of bugs, but nothing game breaking, just my children getting in the buff when I gift them clothing, or the occasional guard dropping dead and whatnot. I nearly didn’t finish the game this month, but I powered through it and got a lot done in a little time. Very little motivation to do much as of late, been going through some really tough times, and dedicating so much time to this game just to finish it before a non-existant deadline probably wasn’t worth it. But, I’m glad I got to play this game, even when the scale proved itself to be rather intimidating, and honestly made me feel a little anxious being unable to complete absolutely everything, though completing all the achievements and quest lines gave me enough closure to put it down for another day.

Wow… nice accomplishment! I’m at over 170 hours in and still haven’t finished the game! :D I’m sure I could if I just followed the main quest line, but I keep wandering around everywhere uncovering so many other random side quests and locations that I often practically forget what I was actually supposed to be doing. Congrats on keeping focused enough to finish, while also seeing plenty of the scenery!

I’m curious if you played it vanilla (no mods) or not? While I was playing, everyone seemed to want me to install all kinds of mods, be they gameplay or graphical enhancements, but I never did, preferring to experience it as the devs released it. Until I experienced a quest-breaking bug… but thankfully the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch fixes it. Perhaps in Special Edition, those bugs are fixed already anyway though (I’m still playing on the older version).

Thank you! I agree with getting sidetracked, it wasn’t always easy to focus on the story haha. Understandably, friends of mine who had already played the game, and recommended I play it in the first place also suggested I install mods. So, I played the first half of my journey completely vanilla, but I did feel a little yearning for some better/more intense weather, so I installed Climates of Tamriel and an ENB. On the other hand, I also experienced a quest-breaking bug, on a pretty important quest, too! That being the Companions line.

Good luck with finishing it, if you so please :>

Congratulations! It took me over 300 hours to complete the game (Oldrim) but I took my sweet time.
I’ve recently started playing the Special Edition and I find it a lot more stable than Oldrim ever was. I play a modded version (about 25 mods) as some things bother me in the vanilla version such as how bright the game is. And once you’ve tried Dolomite Weathers, it’s hard to come back to the vanilla game.

Wow! The game definitely has enough for you to do to spend a couple hundred hours in it, glad you took your time, sometimes you just need to experience a game for all it’s got :) I feel I took my time, too, otherwise I could have been done in 30 hours less haha.
Dolomite Weathers looks really nice! As I said in my response above, I found myself using some weather enhancements, too, but that was about it for mods on my part.

Congratulations! I really admire completionists who don’t shy away from challenging games.

Thank you! I’ve definitely got some games more impressive than Skyrim under my belt, but I surely don’t shy away from a challenge.

I want to give my sincerest congratulations! In theory not a terribly hard game to complete, but I get so distracted with all the side quests, mods, etc. Perhaps I will gain more focus when I finally move onto the special edition. Look forward to seeing your future achievements. ^_^

Thanks! I agree it’s very easy to get side tracked, best of luck yourself!
