April A new beginning
With a mix of being super busy finishing off my latest goal, I once again am quite late with my monthly update (almost have to start readying my next one… ooph). However, with that recent triumph in gaining my degree my time has been greatly freed and can start focusing on getting into my preferred career, but more importantly more time to face my backlog. I apologize if any of my reviews or text is not so clear as half of them were written when I was not so optimal. I look forward to seeing all our progresses over the Summer months, and definitely not spending time indoors and totally playing games most of the time ;).

    Darksiders Warmastered Edition

    Darksiders Warmastered Edition

    22 hours playtime

This game will show you that War is good for something. While I was still feeling the itch of a hack-n-slash, I decided to pay a visit to an old game that has been painted newish. Getting to play one of the four horsemen is enjoyable with a great voice cast surrounding it as you (War) attempt to prove your innocence. Generally a great game, with enjoyable gameplay, however it gets to be a bit buggy and clunky due to being a slightly older game and playing a hulk of a man. Trying to find all collectibles can feel a bit taxing and warp points aren’t always as convenient as they can be. The story is enjoyable still, and sets up a potentially great series and multiple world building points and factions that aren’t so black and white that people often paint them. The biggest issue with the game is that it uses steam controller configurations set by other users. In which case it has jump and swim down as the same button. Until late game I was unable to figure out the steam controller config so until then I was constantly remapping a single action whenever I entered water. Lewd? Nope

    DEEP SPACE WAIFU: WORLD

    DEEP SPACE WAIFU: WORLD

    2 hours playtime

Following the events of Deep Space Waifu: Nekomimi (I think that’s what it is called) you come to the worst place in the universe: Earth. As per usual, if you have played one of these games you have played them all. However at the typical low price and enjoyable gameplay ~nothing to do with lewds ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)~ I once again invest into the DSW series. In a bullet hell format destroy enemies while trying to shoot clothes off of the woman in the background (unless you don’t want to). The story is just as silly as it often is and the art is a small step up from their usual. Lewd? ~Low (Potential one picture of naked women per level clear)~

    Fabula Mortis

    Fabula Mortis

    2 hours playtime
    no achievements

Steampunk fantasy arena shooter with character abilities sounds like a great idea right? I’m not so sure. Each map seems very geared to certain characters, each character has specific loadouts with weapons that vary diversely in quality and on top of that being a multiplayer only (or with bots) game that has no real replay value (in my eyes). Maybe this is better with people, but at this point it is a hard skip. Lewd? ~Nope~

    Hell Yeah!

    Hell Yeah!

    6 hours playtime

When I think Sega, I think of loveable characters with noble pursuits (sonic, Arthur, etc.) Imagine my surprise when I find this being about a murderous hell bunny trying to cover up leaked photos of scandalous times with a duck. Is this a bad thing? No. Was this game enjoyable? Hell Yeah. Mixed between a platformer and finisher based combat you must kill 100 various demons in hell to stop the photo leak from spreading. The game revolves entirely around building your arsenal then doing some form of quick time event to finish each one of them off. The finishers vary a little widely and depend on your execution, but can get a little stale from time to time. A nice touch was that some bosses require an out of the box method that aren’t quite so clear to execute, but feel a little clever when you do. Do you enjoy mindless violence? If your answer was Hell Yeah, then this game might be for you. Lewd? ~Nope (Aside from some suggestive material that is more for comedy than anything~

    Mountain

    Mountain

    187 hours playtime

I finally did it, in some ways it feels like I have climbed a mountain to get here, but I got all the achievements. This game is mostly meant to be idled with a bunch of cool secrets that you can enjoy for like… five seconds. The game itself can be quite buggy and cause issues potentially requiring you to restart. As well not all achievements are guaranteed to be given when requirements are met, so some fiddling may be required. Lewd? Nope, can be relaxing though.

    Sakura MMO

    Sakura MMO

    4 hours playtime

What is the definition of insanity? Possibly doing the same thing over and over again expecting something different. (Okay it might not be exactly that, but roll with it) I’m not quite sure I expect any different from the Sakura series, but I’m already well committed and invested into it. As what is trendy is the “in another world” genre, Sakura surely jumped on bored as your main character finds themselves physically in their favorite mmorpg. My biggest qualm is the fact that the mc wanted to be as free and powerful as her character in the game, but then totally chickens out in most cases. I understand things are different once you get the power you want, but staying consistent in your character would be nice. Otherwise it is kind of a story that has no real resolution or plot to it, so perhaps it fits nicely into the genre. Lewd? ~Kinda (A surprisingly small amount of scenes that depict lewd acts are really there for a Sakura game, but still has a fair share)~

    ChargeShot

    ChargeShot

    3 hours playtime

A one shot deathmatch with slight skill involved with a millisecond reflect ability. There are various sets of maps that have various traps and conditions that only set to increase difficulty. Overall though I could not get into it. Simply couldn’t enjoy it, maybe just not my kind of thing. Lewd? ~Nope~

    DEADBOLT

    DEADBOLT

    4 hours playtime

A sort of puzzle game mixed with quick shooting to take out various undead gangs to bring peace to the streets. Deceptively long, and some levels feel a little too difficult to actually enjoy. Overall recommend. Lewd? ~Nope~

    Mortal Kombat 11

    Mortal Kombat 11

    5 hours playtime

Long anticipating the next entry in the series, I not only bought it once, but for my PS4 as well. Though they have reduced a grind in some aspects as far as reducing gear types from Injustice 2, MK11 brings fourth a ridiculous currency system and grind. There are four currency types now, plethora of loot boxes, and consumables to top it off. After initial release the amount of currency you get per match and per tower was abysmal. Luckily they increased the rate, still sliding that sort of system in was truly terrible. What it does well is increase the skill potential of the game by adding perfect blocks new meter system and a very thorough tutorial system for those wishing to advance themselves. Lewd? ~Nope~

    Sentinels of the Multiverse

    Sentinels of the Multiverse

    4 hours playtime

A surprisingly decent card game that involves you taking various hero decks and stacking them against a villain deck. Some villains are a little stronger and have a clear advantage over you (Citizen Dawn), but definitely has potential for a good multiplayer game, assuming it lets each player control only one hero deck to try and co-op against a big bad. Plenty of heroes and villains to unlock. The comic book page flip gets kind of annoying after a while and kind of wish there was an option to have a regular board. Lewd? ~Nope~

    BRAWL

    BRAWL

    61 minutes playtime

What I expected to be a sort of fighter game turned out to be a bomberman game mixed with Twisted Metal: Black theme. Even on the easiest difficulty I struggled greatly in each characters story and could not get into it. Thus I dropped it. Lewd? ~Doubt it~

Arbiter Libera

Darksiders, a slightly older game? Holy crap, it really has been nine years.

Bangledeschler

It certainly is starting to get there in the years.
