Monthly Update #43: December 2022
This month I played a LOT (for me that is!), however only over a couple of games. I finally finished Shadow Warrior 2, which was fun, and played a little bit more of Darktide with friends earlier in the month. I won Ni No Kuni II on reddit when playing Shadow Warrior 2 so wanted to try that and.... well.
I've beaten the game and am thinking of going for 100% completion, as of this post I'm already at 55 hours played!
I've also been looking at some other JRPGs I've got and never played, and at the steam sales... I will resist.
So a pretty good month overall getting a Steam Gift win and a Reddit win beaten.
2022 Overview
2022 Games Beaten/CompletedLooking at my beaten and completed, I played a lot of good games this year. I finally got around to finishing all my Telltale games from that bundle I bought 2 years ago... Pretty disappointed I don't have any left!
Steam replay was pretty cool to see how I went over the year. My most played game was Witcher 3, which was played mostly that first week of January... December/January is usually my best time for getting longer games done.
I find it interesting how many games I opened and realised I wasn't in the mood to play. Breaking it down by month you can see my indecision š
Plans for 2023
I'm thinking of going back to games I have significant progress in and didn't finish for reasons. List of ideas so far... I also have this list of games that I change up depending on what I want to get around to soon. These are "mostly" longer games that I usually need to see on a list like this to start them! I add/remove things constantly so we will see.
Completed/Beaten
I really enjoyed this game. I liked the different play styles and things to do as it kept it interesting. Combat was fun, and the cities especially were beautiful.
Story was fairly meh. I kind of found it hilarious how Evan was after world peace, but most the people in his kingdom were either warriors or used their skills to research to be better at fighting.
Not to sure about the whole Curious Boy revealā¦ Bit strange.
The voice acting (when lines were voiced) were hit or miss. Evan's speeches especially were annoying.
Small nitpicks honestly, but I enjoyed the game so much I'm going to see if I can 100% the achievementsā¦!

Hmmm I probably peaked early in 2022 with Witcher 3 that first week or two of January. Both DLCās were fantastic.
Telltale Batman games were a surprise on how much I liked them.. I started Arkham Asylum after playing them.
Ring of Pain was another surprise game I really enjoyed!
At the moment playing Ni No Kuni 2 still. Iām really enjoying it! (Minus this one skirmish I need to complete currently..one of those timed ones!). So maybe looking to try out more JRPGs? I will probably open and close a bunch of games to try find something to be honest!
The game I really want to play thatās coming out this year (and is not part of my existing backlog..) is Hogwarts legacy (pending reviews!).
