Second week of February

The games this week were less than great, but hey, at least out of the backlog they go. And my ratio of acquired vs beaten for this year is already back in a good standing \o/.

Current balance of acquired - completed games: 21 - 23 = -2

Review: Horrible horror game, I think the scary part is just how bad it is. I don't know if this is the fault of me running the game with Proton on Linux or the game itself, but the first time I started it I had no sound (second and third time the sound was fine) and the FPS was just as bad as the game. On top of that the game wont minimize when running it with Proton either.

Review: A terrible RPG maker game. Good luck getting anything done as it keeps throwing you into fights that are next to impossible for you to win from the very beginning. And this is not a skill issue, it is an issue of the game being horribly designed. On top of that the positive reviews this game has are blatantly fake. So not only the developers are unable to make a decent game, they are also scummy as hell. Works without issues on Linux with Proton.

Review: I really enjoyed the newer Tomb Raider games so I thought giving a go at an older one would be a good idea, but oh boy I was wrong. This game did not age well, at all. The game is buggy, the controls are horrible and this might sound silly, but I really could not stand the sound effects for some reason. I am gonna stick to the new ones that actually make sense instead. You can get it working with Proton, but there are serious issues.

Other completed games

Review: I have very mixed feelings on this game. The game itself is decent point and click and the story is ok (I found it boring at the beginning but it got me interested after a little while) but the 2 main characters are both unpleasant people. But the ending is not great and hits at a sequel, but that sadly never happened and supposedly the company that made the game doesn't exist anymore. Shame, I wouldn't have minded playing another one.

Its random when I read games but its always negative for everyone when I do. Oh I own this game yep negative. Oh this game looks interesting oh okay negative

To bad you didn’t like these games but yeah off your backlog at least. Hopefully next week is better

Well, from me it is expected that I would play trash :D

So far this week I got 2 really bad games, 1 great game and if everything goes to plan: another 1 bad game and 1 incredibly boring game. So yea, sadly this week is not much better, hopefully next one :)

Yeah that was the whole joke ages ago, oh this game trash mouse must own it XD
Well hopefully the rest of the month is better then

Though a lot of the older TR titles will have the same control scheme, I would say TR Chronicles is one of the worse ones to try out for the older games (aside from maybe Angel of Darkness). Certainly understand not wanting to continue playing the old games though. Definitely have my own bias. Good on you for trying it out though.

Yea I realized that most people say the same thing you said about after I already started playing the game. And yea, don’t think I am gonna bother with the rest unless they get given for free at any point purely based on the controls. Maybe if I had the nostalgia about them would be different, but having never played them before… nah.

I will always give everything a go that ends in my backlog, you never know when you will find that hidden gem. Thanks to that I recently learned that I absolutely love Crusader Kings 2…. and I always thought I hated strategy games and playing that game would be pure torture lol. How wrong I was.

I can sympathize and agree with that mentality. Haven’t gotten to CK2 yet, but hopefully my experience ends up the same.
