February’s Stats

aka. So many games, so little time

Soooo… Hum… clears throat Hello, I’m Sheepy and I felt back into my old MHW addiction… bows head in shame I was “blaming” it on my GF’s recent addiction to it but truth is that I have fallen back into it and used the awesome excuse to play together for buying Iceborne and getting back into the hunt. I REGRET NOTHING. It’s been really good to go back to it, and play both with GF and the friends I played the base game with. The backlog fight, on the other hand, has taken a hit because of it. That coupled with the fact that February was very full IRL, I didn’t finish much this month, but I had a lot of fun so I guess that’s it. What about you fellow assassins? How was your February?

Batman: The Enemy Within

13 hours playtime, 30 of 30 achievements

Simply put, if you liked the first Batman from Telltale, you'll probably like this one too. I did and I liked getting some sort of closure on the series. In the middle of the Telltale basket, but since we're not getting anymore of those...

LUNA The Shadow Dust

3 hours playtime, 13 of 24 achievements

My favourite discovery of February (and of 2020 so far). A short but beautifully crafted P&C/puzzle game with beautiful design, animation and soundtrack. Made by a little indie team that poured all their hearts into it. Strongly recommended.

The Haunted Island, a Frog Detective Game

42 minutes playtime, 6 of 6 achievements

Short and cute P&C (under an hour long) with a very basic visual style where you play a frog detective and get to solve a short mystery.

Pathfinder sounds like an exciting addition indeed. I’m curious about it myself.

Well…I mean for a month where you focused on MHW your backlog did not even take that much of a hit :) And after all, having fun is most important!

EvilBlackSheep

I was gonna grab it in the monthly or trade for it if I hadn’t won it on SG, I have had my eye on it since its release but you know, the backlog always has us busy anyway.

It could have been worse indeed.

Vito

Yeah, there are just too many interesting games ;(

Arbiter Libera

In the middle of the Telltale basket, but since we’re not getting anymore of those…

Well, they are back apparently. The Wolf Among Us season two is in the works so it remains to be seen how much of the talent is back, though.

Pathfinder Kingmaker

Oh boy, that’s a couple of dozen hours long game from what I heard. Waiting on that season pass deal myself.

EvilBlackSheep

The Wolf Among Us season two is in the works

I don’t wanna be to excited that it’s finally happening as like you said, it’s left to be seen how much of the actual original team is back.

Is the season pass of Pathfinder Kingmaker worth it? I might look out for it too.

Arbiter Libera

Is the season pass of Pathfinder Kingmaker worth it? I might look out for it too.

It doesn’t appear to be a major content addition the way something like Pillars of Eternity had, but I’d still want to have it before playing.

EvilBlackSheep

I might do like you and try to get a deal on it before getting into the game. Anyway this month, I’m gonna try to focus on the games from the xbox pass as my subscription to it expires at the end of march.

Kyrrelin

Hello Sheepy! Thanks for sharing your story with us. I can understand you as I also have this “weakness”. XD
If you regret nothing then it’s perfectly fine. ;)

Both Luna and Iris looks so strange, but also temptingly. :D
Will try to keep my eyes on them. ;)

EvilBlackSheep

Well, thanks for reading.

Both Luna and Iris are really cool discoveries, but they’re in very different genres. Like I said Luna is a P&C/puzzle while Iris is a roguelike deckbuilder but with an unusual theme, it’s about a little girl fighting her anxiety and inside fears. I recommend both, depending if the genre appeals to you.

Kyrrelin

Anytime. ;D My backlog suffers because I have serious addiction to Mass Effect, can’t stop playing that one, already missing it. X)

Almost any P&C/puzzle is an instant interest –> buy for me. I don’t have that much experience with roguelike deckbuilder games, but those I have played - Guild of dungeoneering, Hand of fate (I hope that they are in that genre); were really great and I have enjoyed them so much, so I am not against trying new things. And the art is really catchy.

You seem to always point something new for me, same happened with Forgotten Anne. ;)

EvilBlackSheep

Oh if you liked Forgotten Anne visually, you’re in for a treat with Luna.

Iris is more close to Guild of Dungeoneering than Hand of Fate, but check a gameplay video on youtube to be more sure of what it’s like. I’m addicted to roguelikes/deckbuilders and nothing tops Slay the Spire in that category for me, but Iris is actually pretty good too (and yes the visual style is awesome. The dev is a graphic designer and is work is pretty close to that visual style).

And I’m glad if I make anybody discover games from time to time.
