January 2021

After deciding to change monthly updates for individual game reviews, I already miss this time of the month so I'm going to do both!
I'm pretty happy how January turned out. First, I managed to stay true to my word and not buy any new games except from Humble Choice (trading is allowed, full details here). I beat 7 games, which is unusual for me outside of summer months, and also started my Tag Challenge which many fellow assassins have found interesting.
So my first objective for February is to start hacking a couple of games off that list. The second one is to finally beat Xenoblade Chronicles (the Wii version) but I'm afraid one month won't be enough for that considering how extensive this game is.
Stay safe and keep playing. Lengray out :)

Well done on not buying any games, sadly failed since I saw ff13 sequels on sale and I wanted to make sure I got them just in case. Final fantasy kinda gets overlooked on the steam ones.

Not bad to both reviews then monthly post plenty of people do. Good luck with this months games

Don’t do as I do. I’ve had XIII, XIII-2 and LR:XIII in my library for years and they’re still unplayed. I’m really good at getting all the games in some franchises and leaving them in the backlog for a long time :/

haha to late always happens with my sequels. I mainly got them because the 1st game was a gift so if I was to make that my priority soon I didn’t want to just be missing parts. Plus as I said with final fantasy games I tend to skip over them in the steam sale, all my ones have come from hb since they are cheaper with the bonus 20% off. I just have the bad habit of being a lot of sequels before I even know if I like them 1st

I don’t actually know what my longest sequels are. Sure I got games with 2 coming up 3 years but frankly doesn’t seem that bad compared to my Millennium - A New Hope from 2015. Still no idea where it came from, apparently brought it but never remembered why. I gradually just deleted it when I was cleaning things up because it was just so mysterious

Wow, good job! I have bought a bunch of games that I probably shouldn’t buy. And Humble Choice alone is a huge boost to my backlog…this month especially! I want to add 7 games out of 12. I’m still keeping myself from adding December and January games to my account, so I may gift them instead, but the temptation is strong. xD

Lengray

Thanks. Humble Choice is indeed a huge (and dangerous) backlog booster. 7 of the 9 games I added in January were from Humble Choice and the rest were trades. However, I’ve decided to skip February’s Choice as I’ve already managed to trade for the 3 games I wanted from it (Valkyria Chronicles 4, Trine 4 and Valfaris).

I’m still keeping myself from adding December and January games to my account

I used to do that but now I just activate the games I want to keep and trade or gift the rest. That way, I don’t have to keep track of it all.

I have a slightly different perspective here. If I add them, there is a high chance I will not play them at all, because I don’t have time to play them at the moment and I may forget about them after some time (so many games are in my backlog because of it.) In a Schrödinger’s cat state they are now, there is a possibility I will add them and play them when I really really want it, or gift them if I don’t.

Lengray

Fair enough. Maybe I should restrain from activating everything straight away just to see if I really want them in my library.
