August 2023

Fallout

Its alright, Beteshda, I finished it for you.

I kinda liked the story, which was a bit suprising. But really hated repetetive quests which were marked as failed when I was trying focus on main story instead, same with main quests, you can't just be friend with everyone, but there it is forced into nonsenses as "if you helped to these ones, you will have to murder other ones". Another thing was a town crafting part, why I have to keep multiple towns alive in rpg? Companions… eh, I really wish game let me romance a dog.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered

44.6 hours, 55 of 78 achievements
Game got bugs. I mean, spiders.

I really enjoyed that game, city is really well made even for random swinging. Also great story, it is kinda rare game makes me cry.
Still got dlcs left.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III

8.1 hours, 28 of 61 achievements
You can buy same game three times.

If you played one Van Helsing game, like you played all of them. Sadly that one was probably the weakest. What is disapointing is dabbing and subtitles system, the most important part of game story, Katrina plot revealed, I completely missed, cause she kept telling her story when she was out of screen and I couldn't hear her over fighting.

Call of Juarez Gunslinger

6.8 hours, 15 of 26 achievements
Pew, pew, pew.

That game confirmed I don't like shooters. Why do I like buying them?
That game has a lots of action, shooting and linear story. Haven't really aged bad.

The Darkness II

6.2 hours, 23 of 50 achievements
Please, kill me

Another game I will most likely never touch again. Using of superpowers, murdering, shooting etc. Quick game. But I may enjoy a better end, or more like not reveal to me which end is real as I really was at doubt at last sanatorium phase.

Armikrog

6.3 hours, no achievements
Neverhood, what did 2023 do to you?

No, just no. I can't even comment this. Bought game full price for nostalgia, but it was just money grab leeching on old game name.

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead

12.6 hours, 13 of 13 achievements
Me like TWD, me like game.

If only all bossfights in games were just requiring you set their house to brutaly murder them without involving anyone.

NUTS

2.7 hours, 6 of 6 achievements
I hated walking simulators. Now I hate walking simulators and squirells.

That game require you do absolutely weird things and is completely unrealistic, even graphic is terrible. Don't tell me some people really paid 17€ for that?

Pipes!

2.6 hours, 99 of 99 achievements
Pipes!

That game has I pipes, T pipes, L pipes, even some X pipes. You are supposed to redirect green toxic liquid on the other side by pipes. I assume we took role of mass murderer in that game who wanted poison water or something to town upside.

TSIOQUE

2.2 hours, 27 of 31 achievements
Escaping castle, fighting fairies, befriending animals.

TSIOQUE was a bit of surprise, short but cute and funny game. Really enjoyed the ending conclusion and reimagination of story in subtitles drawnings.

Now some low effort boxes for low effort games, but they are beaten.

  • catAnod

    0.3 hours playtime

    40 of 40 achievements

That is solid progress in a month. How good is Van Helsing? I have had that trilogy item in my inventory for so many years now. Still pondering is it worth activating and playing.

I really enjoyed the first, but sadly game doesn’t improve through series, it is more like Van Helsing, Van Helsing 1.1 and Van Helsing 1.2. But I can recommend to play it, games are short and quick driven, but you most likely face similar problems as I did.
It seems as story-wise series with connected story, but I managed to read only about half of it, cause devs made a fail in dialog system.
Also I might recommend to play Victor Vran together with series if you have game, it feels a bit like parody, but still great game, since it is a “selftalking” instead dialog, you won’t face problems with missing texts and I found bossfights in game more creative tbh.

Thanks for review! Beat Victor Vran some years ago. Good to hear that Van Helsing isn’t that long. One reason I have avoided is that once I start playing a trilogy, I have to complete the whole trilogy. :p

Nah, don’t worry. Each game is like 8-10h, I spent more at first which really amused me and tried to replay. The other ones.. yeah, I liked them playing, but I won’t replay. Also forgot to warn you, 3rd has some unobtainable achievements. Like stuff connected to level 50/60 when your max is around 30 or increase stat to 100 (haven’t got that many points to be able do that). I would call that total fail. + multiplayer achievements.

Zelrune

Congrats on all of your assassinations! Spider man looks super fun but tbh I’ve never really been into the superhero thing, the sheer amount of property damage always makes me cringe, even though it’s just a videogame. Did you do the old-timey ship questline in Fallout 4? You might wanna consider it!

xxxkaCZ

That quest ring no bell. I had installed a czech language, so it might be called a bit different for me, but I am sure I did nothing ships related.
I think I am done with Fallout 4, I kinda rushed end, because I was seriously pissed by these never ending timed quests and I hate having failed quests. But I may to come back to it one day again if I buy dlcs. I really enjoyed Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, but that for me was some kind of failure, these new mechanics like base building or a teleport crafting.. yeeks. Not really my thing.
