February 2022

A pretty good month even though the unfinished games from January are still unfinished. Sometimes, getting a bit distracted is a good thing.

  • Master of Orion

I know Golden Sun had a mechanic that used the sunlight it detected and powered you up. Was this a mechanic you were able to use? Did the lack of ability to do so hinder your experience?

Lengray

You must be confusing Golden Sun with Boktai: The Sun Is in Your Hand which featured a light sensor on the cartridge.

Bangledeschler

You are right. For some reason (probably because of the title) I had always associated that mechanic with Golden Sun. Whoops.

YOU GOT ME EXCITED I THOUGHT GOLDEN SUN WAS ON STEAM!
I need to replay it when I’m not so busy… I have both Golden sun and Dark Dawn, I never found a copy for Lost Age. Too nervous to trust those auction websites as well. Reputations can be so finicky. >:c

Lengray

Sorry for the unintended false hope. I play old Nintendo games on a PocketGo, a cheap Chinese handheld that runs emulators so it’s much easier to have access to them.
I do intend to play The Lost Age sometime this year but I have to focus on my backlog first.

Ooooh Golden Sun. This one was good (or at least I remember it being). Congrats on the progress.

Lengray

Thanks. I’ve heard the sequel is just as good. They actually had to split their initial project into two as it couldn’t fit on a single cartridge so it’s really a 2-part game.

EvilBlackSheep

In my memories, it was just as good. Do you plan on playing it too ?

Lengray

I will and hopefully reasonably soon but I need to give my backlog more attention before that.
